eSIM Go in Mexico: a two-plan catalogue that is not on sale

Two rows, and no shop behind them

That is the whole of our eSIM Go Mexico data, and none of it is purchasable. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers — travel brands, apps and MVNOs that put their own name on the eSIM — and does not retail to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout, Contact Sales where a shop puts Buy now, and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404.

So these figures cannot be verified and never will be. They stay on the page because this site published them as buyable for months. The full account is on our eSIM Go platform page.

The $17 is worth a second look besides. It is not a Mexican price: the identical $17 for 10GB sits in our eSIM Go rows for Australia, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Thailand and the United States. Nine countries at one figure to the cent is a template, not a market.

The recommendation we have withdrawn

This page told you to buy the 3GB month, on the grounds that it was "the only 3GB plan in our Mexico table with a month of validity".

That was wrong twice. There is no checkout at which to buy it, and the claim was not true of our own data even then: Nomad sells a verified 3GB month for $7 and Saily a verified 3GB month for $9.99. The eSIM Go row was neither unique nor cheapest.

What Mexico actually costs

Every figure below was read off the seller's own site.

Nomad's verified $15.50 is the cheapest 10GB month in Mexico and sits below the eSIM Go row anyway. Airalo's verified Chido 10GB month is $18.50 — the same allowance on its Chido Plus line is $26, and Airalo does not state what the Plus tier adds. Saily's verified $23.99 is the dearest of the checked prices; we once carried it at $17.99, which had it looking competitive when it is not.

eSIMCard is a different case. esimcard.com has a working checkout, so its prices are ones a traveller can pay; ours were wrong, and all 78 rows were withdrawn on 18 August 2026 once we read its site.

The local SIM

A Mexican prepaid SIM costs about $8 at an airport and Mexico requires no ID to buy one, which makes it the cheapest way to get a Mexican number. On price alone it beats every travel eSIM at 3GB. An eSIM wins if your phone has no physical SIM slot, or if you want data working the moment you switch off flight mode.

The network claim we removed

An earlier version of this page said eSIM Go Mexico runs on Telcel. That came from this site's own generated text, not from eSIM Go, which publishes nothing and has no consumer page on which it could.

Nobody in this market publishes a host network. We read Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 and none of them names a carrier for any country — the operators our data once attributed to Holafly's listing were nowhere on Holafly's site. eSIM Go could not name one even if it wanted to, having no consumer page at all.

That is worth registering, because Mexican coverage is not uniform. The gaps that catch travellers out are Holbox and Contoy, the remote Copper Canyon, the interior of rural Oaxaca and Chiapas, and stretches of the federal highway between Playa del Carmen and Mérida. Telcel has the widest rural reach of the national networks, but no travel eSIM sold for Mexico will promise you it.

Verdict

There is nothing to buy from eSIM Go, and the recommendation that once stood here has been withdrawn rather than qualified.

For a light month, Nomad's verified 3GB at $7 is the plan the old advice was reaching for, at a checkout that exists. For a normal two-week trip, Nomad's verified $15.50 at 10GB leads the country.
