Vodafone Italy SIM card: what we could confirm for visitors
Vodafone Italia's tourist pages did not show their details to us, so this page lists what we saw and what you should check.
What we could and could not verify about Vodafone Italy
We tried to read Vodafone Italia's tourist pages on 8 October 2026, and the pages we reached came back with only a title, so we saw none of the plan details. This Vodafone Italy SIM card page is therefore short. We would rather say what we could not confirm than fill it from memory or from old pages.
What we saw is that Vodafone Italia has a page titled "Mobile Offers in Italy: Dolce Vita" under its tourist offers section (privati.vodafone.it/mobile/estero/offerte-turisti.html) and a related Dolce Vita Plus page. The names suggest Vodafone sells tourist offers in Italy. We could not read their prices, data, validity, ID rules or where they are sold.
Is a Vodafone Italy SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
We cannot judge it from Vodafone's pages. The sensible approach is to read the Dolce Vita page yourself before you fly and compare it with the carriers we could read: TIM Tourist and WindTre's tourist passes, both with their prices and rules laid out. The Italy hub lists the rest.
What to check on Vodafone's tourist offer
- the price, whether a separate SIM fee applies, and how long it lasts;
- how much data works in other EU countries, since tourist SIMs often limit this;
- whether you can buy it online, at a Vodafone shop, or at an airport;
- what ID is asked, for example a passport;
- whether an eSIM is offered, and whether your phone is unlocked;
- Vodafone's own coverage map for the regions you will visit.
Vodafone Italy prepaid and Vodafone Italy eSIM
We have nothing verified on either, so we make no claim. Older Vodafone pages for earlier tourist products exist online, and their terms may no longer apply, so ignore any page without a recent date.
Vodafone against a travel eSIM
A travel eSIM is bought before you fly and needs no Italian shop visit or registration. Our Italy SIM card comparison and cheapest eSIM page show the verified prices we do have. If you cannot confirm a Vodafone tourist offer before landing, a travel eSIM is the safer way to have data on arrival. Other Italian networks: Iliad Italy and Fastweb Mobile.
Common questions
Does Vodafone Italy sell a tourist SIM card?
Vodafone Italia has pages titled Mobile Offers in Italy: Dolce Vita and Dolce Vita Plus, listed under tourist offers. We could not read their contents on 8 October 2026, so we cannot confirm price or terms.
How much does a Vodafone Italy tourist SIM cost?
We could not read Vodafone's current prices, and we do not quote figures from old pages. Check the Dolce Vita page on vodafone.it for the current price, SIM fee and validity.
Does Vodafone Italy have an eSIM for visitors?
We could not verify this. The pages we reached showed only titles. Ask at a Vodafone shop or check the Dolce Vita page, and make sure your phone is unlocked.
Do I need ID to buy a Vodafone SIM in Italy?
We could not confirm Vodafone's rules from its pages. Bring your passport and check at the shop or in the online order steps.
Is Vodafone better than TIM for tourists in Italy?
We cannot judge, because we could not read Vodafone's offer. TIM Tourist's details are on our TIM page, and both are claims by the carriers. Compare current prices, EU data and shop access before choosing.
