Saily in Ireland: cheapest at 1 GB and 3 GB, beaten from 10 GB up

The five plans

Saily's Ireland range is short and almost entirely monthly. Every price below was read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026.

Four of those five rows are new. The old ones were not readings of Saily's checkout — they came from a generated record that gave Saily the same round numbers in country after country, and every one of them was too high. The 20 GB month we did not list at all.

Hotspot sharing is supported across the plans. There are no calls or texts, which is standard for the category.

The $3.99 plan is still the cheapest way in

One gigabyte for a week at $3.99 is the cheapest entry point in our entire Ireland dataset, and the seven-day window is the part that matters. The nearest thing to it is Airalo's verified 1 GB at $4, which expires after three days. A penny cheaper and four extra days is a small win, but it is a real one, and it fits a specific traveller well: someone flying in for a few days who needs maps, boarding passes and messaging, and who will be on hotel or pub wi-fi the rest of the time. One gigabyte covers that in Ireland, where wi-fi is widespread and mostly free.

It is also the right size for a hedge. If you are relying on a local prepaid SIM bought after you land, $3.99 buys you a working connection from the moment the plane door opens until you find a shop.

Above 1 GB, the picture is much closer than we said

Saily takes 3 GB outright, by a dollar over Nomad, and takes 5 GB by a cent over Airalo. At 10 GB it is a dollar over Airalo and two over Nomad; at 20 GB Nomad's $20 is six dollars clear of everyone.

This page used to say Saily was "the most expensive metered provider we hold for Ireland at 5 GB and 10 GB". That was true of the $12.99 and $19.99 we were publishing and is not true of the $10.99 and $17.99 Saily charges.

Where the range still runs out is volume. Saily sells nothing above 20 GB. If you want a month of real usage in Ireland, Saily's best rate is $1.30 a gigabyte while Airalo's verified 50 GB month runs at $0.84 — well under two-thirds of it.

The network, and what we won't tell you

An earlier version of this page named Three and Vodafone as Saily's Irish hosts. That has been removed. Saily does not publish which Irish network its plans roam onto — it publishes none anywhere, and we hold no operator against a single Saily row in any of the forty-eight countries we cover — so no part of this review rests on coverage being better or worse than a rival's.

What you can rely on is the country-level picture, which is the same whoever you buy from. Ireland's coverage is good in towns and along the motorway network, and thin in exactly the places people drive to: the Atlantic peninsulas at Dingle, Beara and Malin Head, the Wicklow Mountains, the Connemara interior, and the offshore islands, with the Aran Islands, Cape Clear and Tory Island all unreliable. Verdict

Buy Saily up to 5 GB. Saily's 1 GB week at $3.99 is the cheapest way to arrive connected in Ireland, its 3 GB month at $7.99 is the cheapest of its size, and its 5 GB month at $10.99 shades Airalo by a cent.

At 10 GB, Nomad's $16 is the buy. At 20 GB, Nomad again at $20. Above that, Airalo's 50 GB month at $42 is the cheapest rate in the country at 84 cents a gigabyte, with Nomad's 50 GB at $45 the only alternative at that size.
