Nomad in Ireland: cheapest at 10 GB and 20 GB, beaten at 5

What Nomad actually sells here

Ten plans, read off Nomad's own site on 17 August 2026. Six metered, four uncapped:

The uncapped plans run $11 for three days, $18 for five, $25 for seven and $33 for ten.

That is a much wider range than this page used to describe. The old version said Nomad sold two Irish plans, both monthly, with no starter, no short window and nothing above 10 GB. All of that was wrong, and so was one of the two prices.

The correction

This page recommended Nomad's 5 GB month as the cheapest month of modest data in Ireland. The price we quoted, $9, was never read off a checkout. It is $12.50, which puts it above Airalo's verified $11 rather than $2 below it, and the recommendation goes with it. The 10 GB figure of $16 was right.

Where Nomad wins, on prices both sides of which are now checked

Two clear results. At 10 GB Nomad is a dollar under Airalo and four under Saily, and it is the cheapest 10 GB month in the country. At 20 GB it is five and a half dollars under Airalo — a fifth cheaper, and the largest margin any seller holds at any size in our Irish data. A round dollar a gigabyte is a good rate for a market this expensive.

Two clear losses. At 5 GB Airalo is $1.50 cheaper for the same month, and it also sells 5 GB over seven days for $10 and over fifteen for $10.50 if a month is more than you need. At 50 GB Airalo's $42 beats Nomad's $45, and 84 cents a gigabyte is the cheapest data in Ireland.

The 1 GB is worth a mention for short trips. Nomad's $4.50 buys a full week where Airalo's $4 expires after three days. Saily's $3.99 week is cheaper still, and that figure has now been checked too — as has its 3 GB month at $7.99, a dollar under Nomad's $9.

The uncapped plans undercut Airalo throughout

Nomad's four uncapped plans are cheaper than Airalo's at every length the two share: $11 against $11.50 for three days, $18 against $19.50 for five, $25 against $27 for seven, $33 against $34 for ten. Holafly's verified five-day plan is $20.50, dearer than both.

The catch is the ceiling. Nomad stops at ten days; Airalo goes on to fifteen at $48.50 and thirty at $71. And for most Irish trips the metered arithmetic still wins — 20 GB for $20 costs less than five days of uncapped data.

The same prices in thirteen countries

Nomad's Irish ladder is byte-identical to the one it sells in Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden — the same six metered prices and the same four uncapped ones in all thirteen. That is a seller's tiering policy applied to a group of countries at once, not a reflection of what Irish wholesale access costs. It is worth remembering whenever a provider explains its price as a local network arrangement.

Network and coverage

Nomad publishes no host network for Ireland, and none for any other country. An earlier version of this page said its listing pointed to Three and Vodafone; that came from older generated text rather than from Nomad, and it has been removed. Airalo and Saily publish nothing either, so no travel eSIM here can tell you which of the three Irish networks you will land on.

What is reliable is where coverage thins, and it thins in the places people go for scenery: the remote Atlantic peninsulas around Dingle, Beara and Malin Head, the Wicklow Mountains, the Connemara interior, and the offshore islands including the Aran Islands, Cape Clear and Tory Island. Verdict

Buy Nomad's 10 GB at $16 for a fortnight of ordinary use, or its 20 GB at $20 if two of you are sharing a hotspot or a laptop is coming along — that second one is the best-value metered plan we hold for Ireland below 50 GB. Do not buy its 5 GB, which this page used to recommend on a price that was never read from a checkout: Airalo's $11 is cheaper for the same month.
