Saily in France: cheapest at 1GB, and now at 5GB and 20GB too

Can you do a Paris weekend on 1GB?

Usually, yes — but only if the hotel WiFi is doing the night shift. Here is roughly where a gigabyte goes over three days in the city:

The first four add up to something under 650MB, which 1GB covers comfortably. The fifth line is the one that breaks the plan. Autoplaying video in a feed will spend more data than everything else on this list combined, and it is the single thing to turn off before you land.

The seven-day validity is the quiet advantage. Airalo's entry plan is a penny more at $4 and expires after 3 days — verified on 13 August 2026 — so a Friday arrival and a Monday evening flight already puts you outside it. Saily's week takes the clock-watching out of a short trip.

Above the entry plan, it now wins two sizes

The 3GB sits nearly three dollars above Nomad's verified 3GB month at $6 — which is the cheapest 3GB in France on any terms.

At 10GB Saily is third of six providers in our France data. Nomad's verified $14 for 30 days and Airalo's verified $16 both come in under Saily's $16.99. The two sizes Saily beats Airalo at are 5GB and 20GB, and both wins are for a full month: $10.99 against a verified $11.00, and $22.99 against $23.50. Neither margin is a reason to switch on its own, and neither survives the third column. Nomad's verified prices are $9 and $21 at those sizes, two dollars under Saily each time. Saily is cheaper than Airalo in France; it is not the cheapest.

The caveat is validity. Above 1GB, Saily sells nothing shorter than 30 days, and Airalo does: 5GB for 15 days at $10.00 and 20GB for 15 days at $22.50, both under Saily's monthly prices for the same allowance. If the trip fits inside a fortnight, Airalo is still cheaper at every size.

And there is still no 50GB. The best rate anywhere in our France data is Nomad's verified 50GB over 30 days at $35, which is $0.70 a gigabyte against Saily's best of $1.15 at 20GB. Anyone travelling for a month, or two people sharing a hotspot, is shopping above Saily's top rung.

Roam-like-at-home comes first

Before any of this: if you live in the EU or the EEA, your existing SIM works in France at your domestic rates and allowances. No purchase, no QR code, no plan. A large share of visitors to France arrive from inside that zone, and for them the cheapest eSIM in the market is still worse value than the phone already in their pocket.

The usual catches are worth checking on your own tariff rather than assuming: unlimited home plans often cap the roaming portion at a fixed number of gigabytes, and hotspot use abroad is sometimes excluded where it is allowed at home. If either bites, Saily's 3GB at $8.99 is a sensible top-up to sit alongside your own SIM rather than replace it.

Travellers from the UK, US, Canada, Australia and elsewhere outside the zone do not get this, and the arithmetic above applies to them in full.

The network, and what the Nord name is worth

Saily does not publish which French network it connects through. Nor does Airalo or eSIMCard, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could. Nor does Nomad, though an earlier version of this page said its listing pointed at Orange and SFR on part of its France range. Nor does Holafly, though this page used to say it named Orange, SFR and Bouygues; that came from our own data rather than from Holafly, which publishes no host carrier for France or for any country.

Saily is built by Nord Security, and the account and app are tidy in a way that matters slightly more on a short trip, when you are installing something at an airport gate rather than at a desk. That is a tiebreaker at near-equal prices, and the prices are now nearer: the gap to Airalo at 10GB is ninety-nine cents rather than three dollars. It is still not worth paying a large premium for.

Verdict

Saily is no longer an entry-level-only pick in France. The $3.99 plan is still the best short-break buy in our France data, and the week of validity is the reason rather than the penny. On 30-day plans Saily undercuts Airalo at 5GB, at $10.99, and at 20GB, at $22.99 — but Nomad's verified prices are two dollars under Saily at both. Airalo is cheaper at 3GB on the shorter windows it sells, at 10GB by ninety-nine cents, and on every 15-day window.
