eSIM Go in Bulgaria: no prices, because there is nothing on sale

The plan list is empty, and it should be

We have no eSIM Go plans for Bulgaria. Not one, at any size or duration — and this time we can say why. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers rather than to travellers. Checked on 18 August 2026, esim-go.com carries no consumer price anywhere: no basket, no checkout, Contact Sales instead of Buy now, and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404. There is no Bulgarian price for anyone to capture. Our eSIM Go platform page has the full finding.

The previous version of this page guessed anyway. It said eSIM Go's Bulgaria plans started at $8 for 3GB over thirty days, and that eSIM Go ran on A1 and Vivacom, a match for the country's best network. All of that came from a generated corpus whose Bulgarian prices were badly wrong where we later checked them — the same source told readers the cheapest gigabyte in Bulgaria cost $1.35 when the real floor is $0.72. We have deleted it rather than repeat it.

What a Bulgarian plan is worth

Bulgaria is one of the cheapest eSIM markets in Europe, which makes this an unforgiving country to be uncompetitive in. Hold any seller's quote against these — including the smaller apps and travel brands that resell wholesale capacity under their own name. Every figure was read from the provider's own site: Airalo's on 13 August 2026, Nomad's on 17 August, Saily's and Holafly's on 18 August.

Apply that as a test. The old page's $8 for 3GB would have been mid-table rather than competitive: Airalo charges $5 for the same data over seven days, and Nomad, now checked, charges $9 over thirty. A quote of $10 for 5GB is beaten by $4. A quote of $15 for 10GB over a month is beaten by $3.

Roughly: under $6 for 5GB, under $12 for 10GB and under $20 for 20GB are competitive in Bulgaria. Anything materially above those is not, whoever is selling it.

The network claim, and why we cut it

We hold no host network for eSIM Go in Bulgaria, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could publish one. Naming A1 or Vivacom because rival providers list them is precisely the reasoning that produced the first draft of this page — and those rivals do not list them either. We read Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 and none names a carrier anywhere.

This is not a small point. An earlier round of pages on this site treated Airalo's retail product names as carriers and then made recommendations on the strength of them — Bulgaria's is called Bultel, which is a label on a checkout page and nothing more. Every host network in our dataset is unverified, for every provider in every country. If a comparison page tells you which Bulgarian operator your eSIM will roam onto, ask where it read that.

What to check instead of the network

Three things decide whether a Bulgarian plan is good, and the carrier is not one you can control.

Validity. Airalo's duration premium here is about a dollar between a seven-day plan and a thirty-day one at the same size. If a quote charges a lot more for a longer window, that is a signal about its pricing generally.

Tethering. The old page said eSIM Go supported hotspot in Bulgaria, which was never checkable and is now moot. Tethering varies by provider — Holafly's Bulgarian plans are listed as not permitting tethering. Confirm before you pay if a laptop is involved.

Coverage, which nobody sells. Bulgarian signal is good in the cities and along the coast, and thin on remote Rhodope hiking trails, in the Rila mountains above the ski resort base areas including the ground around Musala, on some steep Black Sea cliffs, and in rural north-western villages. No eSIM in our data lets you pick a network to work around that.

The alternatives

A Bulgarian prepaid SIM costs about $9 at the airport, from Vivacom, A1 or Yettel — cheaper than every eSIM plan above 10GB — and gives you a local number. Registration needs a passport or national ID. An eSIM needs no document at all.
