Yettel Bulgaria SIM card: the tourist eSIM packages, priced and explained

Yettel (formerly Telenor Bulgaria) sells data-only tourist eSIMs online, 25 GB or 100 GB. They carry no calls, and Yettel's page does not mention ID.

A Yettel Bulgaria SIM card is the most visitor-friendly of Bulgaria's three networks, going by what each says on its own site: Yettel has a page for tourist prepaid plans, and the products on it are sold online as eSIMs. We read it on 8 October 2026. Yettel was previously Telenor Bulgaria; the site we read is under the Yettel name.

Which Yettel Bulgaria SIM card can a tourist buy?

Yettel's tourist page lists two data-only eSIM packages:

PackageValidityDataPrice
Yettel 25 GB30 daysunlimited for the first 5 days, then 25,000 MB10.23 EUR
Yettel 100 GB60 daysunlimited for the first 20 days, then 100,000 MB40.90 EUR

Prices are as shown on that page on 8 October 2026. The page does not say whether they include VAT beyond mentioning no hidden charges.

There are no calls or SMS in either package. They work only in Bulgaria and only on Yettel's network. If you run out you can buy more data, and Yettel texts you at 80 and 100 percent usage.

How do you buy and install a Yettel tourist eSIM?

Online, through Yettel's website. Yettel emails a QR code: on Android you scan it in settings, on iPhone you enter the LPA code by hand. Your phone must support eSIM. The page mentions no shops for these packages. Because delivery is by email, you can set it up on Wi-Fi at the airport, or before you fly if the plan lets you wait to start it; the page does not say when the validity clock begins, so check before installing early.

Does a Yettel prepaid SIM need ID?

The tourist page does not say. It links to terms and conditions that may cover it, and we could not read them. For a physical Yettel prepaid SIM from a shop, expect the possibility of an ID check, but that is an expectation, not something Yettel states. Yettel's site also lists ordinary prepaid plans, add-ons and an eSIM page, but we did not find prices for a physical prepaid SIM that a visitor could buy.

Yettel Bulgaria SIM card coverage

Yettel's site has a coverage map and a "best network" banner, but the pages we read give no 4G or 5G specifics. Our network notes for Bulgaria call coverage good in populated areas; that is not Yettel's claim and we have not verified it. Use Yettel's map for your route, especially for mountain or rural stops.

Yettel or a travel eSIM?

Yettel's 25 GB package is competitive with a travel eSIM on size, but it is single-country and tied to one network. If your trip crosses borders, a regional eSIM may be simpler; see the Bulgaria comparison and the cheapest eSIM page. Yettel's tourist eSIM does not require a shop or an in-person step, which separates it from Vivacom, where registration needs an identity card or passport, and from A1 Bulgaria, which sells a 15 GB eSIM at 7.67 EUR without registration. The Bulgaria hub covers the wider options.

What Yettel's tourist page does not say

It does not state an ID rule, the time the validity starts, or coverage figures. We have not tested the plans.

Common questions

Does Yettel Bulgaria have a tourist SIM card?

Yettel has a tourist prepaid page listing two data-only eSIM packages: 25 GB for 30 days at 10.23 EUR and 100 GB for 60 days at 40.90 EUR. We did not find a tourist plan sold as a physical SIM on the pages we read.

Can I make calls with the Yettel tourist eSIM?

No. Yettel's page says the tourist packages carry data only, with no calls or SMS. They also work only in Bulgaria and only on Yettel's network. For calls you would use apps over data or another SIM.

Online, from Yettel's website, as an eSIM. Yettel emails a QR code that Android users scan, while iPhone users type the LPA code. The phone must support eSIM. The page mentions no shop sales for these packages.

Yettel's tourist page does not mention an ID or passport requirement. It links to terms and conditions that we could not read. If registration matters to you, check those terms or ask Yettel directly before you buy.

Is Yettel cheaper than a travel eSIM for Bulgaria?

The 25 GB package at 10.23 EUR is in a similar range to many travel eSIMs, but we only quote Yettel's price here. Check current travel eSIM prices on our comparison page, since they change often.
