Saily in Bulgaria: cheapest at every size it sells

What Saily sells in Bulgaria

Five plans, all read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026. This page previously listed two, at prices roughly double the real ones.

Hotspot tethering is supported across the range — worth stating, because it isn't true of every provider here.

Bulgaria is one of three countries where Saily's entry price is $1.99, alongside Austria and Czechia. At the other end of its range it charges $8.99 for the same single gigabyte in Egypt, Morocco and the UAE. There is no flat Saily entry price, which is what this page assumed when it printed $3.99.

Cheapest entry, and now cheapest almost everywhere else

Airalo's figures were read on 13 August 2026, Saily's on 18 August. Read the two columns together and the pattern is unmistakable: at 5, 10 and 20GB Saily charges exactly one cent less than Airalo. That is not local to Bulgaria — Saily undercuts Airalo by a single cent in 75 of the 145 30-day sizes the two share across every country we have verified.

At 1GB the gap is real rather than nominal. Saily's $1.99 buys seven days where Airalo's $4 buys three: half the money, more than twice the window.

Where the argument this page used to make has collapsed

An earlier version of this page said Saily's 3GB plan was "the harder one to defend", beaten on both counts by Airalo's $7 for 5GB, and its verdict was that Saily was "the right buy at 1GB and the wrong one at 3GB". Both rested on a $8.99 price for that plan which had never been read off Saily. The real price is $4.99. It is cheaper than Airalo's 3GB in absolute terms, over four times the validity, and there is nothing left to defend.

What survives is the per-gigabyte point, in weaker form. Saily's entry gigabyte at $1.99 costs about two and three-quarter times what Airalo's 50GB month charges per gigabyte, not the five and a half times this page claimed. Bulgaria's cheap data still lives at the top of the size range, and Airalo's $36 for 50GB is still the cheapest gigabyte in the country by a wide margin. Nobody else sells 50GB here.

Network, and what nobody can tell you

Our data used to list A1 and Vivacom against Saily's Bulgaria plans. That was an error on our side rather than a claim Saily makes: Saily publishes no host network in any country, and neither do Airalo, Nomad or Holafly. The Bulgarian operators we once credited to Holafly's own listing came from the same generated data, and reading Holafly's country pages found no carrier named at all. We will not recommend one eSIM over another on network grounds when nobody will say what they are selling.

What is worth planning around is where Bulgarian coverage thins regardless of provider: remote hiking trails in the Rhodopes, the Rila mountains above the ski resort bases including the Musala summit area, some deep Black Sea coastal cliffs, and rural villages in the north-west. No travel eSIM lets you choose your network from the phone, so if a specific carrier's reach is critical to your route, buy locally instead.

The two questions that come first

Bulgaria is in the EU. If your normal SIM is from an EU or EEA country, roam-like-at-home applies, your usual allowance should work here at no extra charge within your tariff's fair-use cap, and the right amount to spend on this page is nothing.

If that isn't you, weigh the local option. A Bulgarian prepaid SIM runs about $9 at the airport from Vivacom, A1 Bulgaria or Yettel Bulgaria and comes with a local number, but registration requires a passport or ID at the counter. Saily's $1.99 undercuts that by nearly eighty per cent and needs no paperwork at all.

Verdict. Saily is the cheapest or joint-cheapest option in Bulgaria at every size it sells, and the cheapest by a genuine margin at 1GB. Saily sells nothing larger. Airalo's 50GB at $36 is where Bulgarian data gets properly cheap. The full provider comparison is on our Bulgaria hub.
