eSIMCard in the UAE: the lowest prices in our data have gone from it

Five rows, all withdrawn — and seven more besides

eSIMCard held the lowest price in our UAE data at every size, and this page was careful to say those figures were unread. All five have now been withdrawn — out of the table here and out of the cheapest-per-gigabyte ranking across the site.

Seven Holafly UAE rows have gone the same way, for a different reason. Holafly sells exactly six windows — three, five, seven, ten, fifteen and thirty days — in all 44 countries we have read. Our UAE set included a one-day and a twenty-day plan and no thirty-day plan at all, which describes products that do not exist. Those rows are withdrawn too, so Airalo is the only uncapped ladder for the Emirates whose prices we have actually read.

They used to carry an indicative label — our figure, not read off a live checkout, but presumed to be somewhere near the mark. On 18 August 2026 we read eSIMCard's own pages, and that presumption failed. The entry plan our data priced identically across fifteen unrelated countries sells for well under half of it on eSIMCard's Japanese page, and the sizes we listed match neither of the tiers it actually offers. A figure you have checked and found wrong is not indicative; it is wrong.

We could not put the right prices in their place either. Our records hold a plan as four things — provider, size, days, price — and eSIMCard's catalogue does not resolve to four things. A Standard/Universal toggle swaps its whole range between two product lines, each plan carries a speed-limit flag that only appears inside its own details modal, and the carrier list varies from plan to plan. One price per size would have merged a throttled plan and a full-speed one into a single row. Our eSIMCard page sets out the full reasoning.

What an eSIM for the United Arab Emirates actually costs

Airalo and Saily were read on 13 August 2026, Nomad on 17 August 2026. Take these to eSIMCard's checkout and judge what you find there against them.

Network, calling and buying

Two of eSIMCard's five UAE rows carried an operator name in our data and the other three carried nothing. That name came from this site's own generated text rather than from eSIMCard, and a carrier that appears on the cheap rows and vanishes on the expensive ones was always a sign of that. We have withdrawn it along with the prices.

Coverage is barely a risk here in any case. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah are 5G throughout. The signal thins in the Hajar Mountains — particularly the road tunnels on the Al Ain to Fujairah highway — and in deep desert beyond the settlements, so save offline maps if either is on your route.

One UAE quirk is worth knowing before you pay. Local networks block calling over the internet by regulation: WhatsApp calls, FaceTime, Skype and Zoom audio do not work on a local Emirati line, though WhatsApp text messaging does. Travellers on international eSIMs generally report that calling works, and BOTIM and C'Me are the approved alternatives, but we have not tested any of it on eSIMCard specifically. If calling home matters, ask before you buy rather than assume.

Buying the eSIM needs no paperwork. We hold no verified ID rule and no local SIM price for the Emirates, so the local-versus-eSIM comparison this site usually makes is one we cannot make here.

What eSIMCard still does that nobody else does

eSIMCard is the only one of the six sellers on this site that publishes the host network at all. We read that directly: its Japan page names three Japanese operators against its plans, in a Supported Countries & Networks block. Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly name no operator in any country, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could. That is a genuine difference, and the price check left it untouched.

The carriers our own records held against its rows here came from this site's generated text rather than from eSIMCard, so those are ours to withdraw and not its claim to defend. Its own country listing is the place to look. The Emirates is a country where the answer matters little — Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah are 5G throughout — but it is still the one question no rival answers.

Verdict

We have no Emirati price for eSIMCard, so this page no longer calls it cheapest at anything. That claim rested on five figures we have since read and found wrong, so it has gone rather than been hedged.

With the Holafly rows withdrawn as well, the UAE is now a market where Airalo, Nomad and Saily carry the only prices we have read. The verified table above is the benchmark; the United Arab Emirates hub has the rest.
