StarHub Singapore SIM card: tourist plans, eSIM and Changi pickup
StarHub's tourist plans cost $12 to $30 for 30 days. What the page says on eSIM, Changi counters, passports and 5G.
Is a StarHub Singapore SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
Yes. A StarHub Singapore SIM card for tourists is sold at Changi Airport arrival halls and online, in 30-day plans with a Singapore number or as data-only eSIMs. We read StarHub's tourist SIM page on 8 October 2026; this is desk research, not a test. The Singapore hub covers the other carriers.
What are the StarHub Tourist SIM plans?
All are 30 days with no contract. The page lists:
- 4G Tourist, $12: 300 GB of local data, 15 GB of roaming across 9 APAC destinations, on 4G.
- Tourist Core, $15: 300 GB local, 30 GB roaming across 20 destinations, on what StarHub calls 5G+.
- Tourist Plus, $30: 400 GB local, 95 GB roaming across 20 destinations, on 5G+.
All include unlimited local calls and texts, and a stated allowance of IDD minutes. StarHub also lists extra data for a few Southeast Asian countries. The prices are as read on the date above, so check the StarHub page before you buy.
StarHub eSIM for tourists
The StarHub tourist eSIM comes as data-only versions of the same three plans, at the same prices. The page says the eSIM must be activated within 18 days of purchase. Your phone must be eSIM-compatible and not carrier-locked. After ID verification you get a QR code through the StarHub app and by email.
Data-only means no Singapore number for calls and texts. If you want a number, take a physical SIM.
Where do you get a StarHub tourist SIM?
Physical SIMs are sold at Changi Airport arrival halls. The page is inconsistent about terminals: the main text lists StarHub counters at Terminals 1 to 4, while its FAQ says Terminals 1 to 3, and money-changer counters are listed at Terminals 1, 2 and 4. Check before you rely on one. Selected StarHub resellers also sell them. eSIMs are bought online.
What ID does StarHub need?
A passport. StarHub says to bring it for verification when you buy a physical SIM, and eSIMs also go through ID verification. It does not say what happens after 30 days on the page we read.
StarHub coverage
StarHub marks the $15 and $30 plans as 5G+ and the $12 plan as 4G. The page gives no population coverage figure, and no speeds.
StarHub against a travel eSIM
A travel eSIM needs no registration with a local carrier. StarHub gives you a Singapore number on the physical SIM and a large local data allowance for little money. See our Singapore SIM card comparison and cheapest eSIM page. Other carriers: Singtel, M1 and TPG.
