Holafly reviews: what Holafly says about itself, and what the prices show

We cannot give you a verdict from other people's posts. This page puts Holafly's own claims beside the prices we verified, so you can judge the gap.

Holafly reviews are everywhere, and most of them are opinion. This page is not. It is desk research on 8 October 2026: what Holafly says about itself on esim.holafly.com, set against the prices we read from its checkout on 18 August 2026. We have not tested a Holafly eSIM on a phone, and we say so up front.

What does Holafly say about its own reviews?

The homepage shows a Trustpilot score of 4.7 out of 5, labelled "Excellent", next to a count of more than 114,000 reviews. Read the small print, though: the widget says it is showing Holafly's four- and five-star reviews. So the page displays a selection, not the whole spread. Holafly also claims more than 25 million eSIMs sold. That counts eSIMs, not travellers, and the page gives no customer total.

Four named "verified buyer" testimonials sit on the page too. They carry no figures and we cannot check who wrote them. A separate plan page claims a "98% faster connection" than other providers, with no method or source given, so we treat that as marketing and not evidence.

None of this makes Holafly bad. It means the numbers it publishes about itself are the numbers that flatter it, which is normal and worth knowing.

What about Holafly reviews on Reddit?

People search for holafly reviews reddit and holafly esim reddit because they want unfiltered users. We did not read Reddit threads for this page, and we will not summarise or invent posts we have not read. Anything we wrote about what "Redditors say" would be made up.

What you can do is read the threads yourself with two questions in mind: how recent is the post, and did the person use the same plan length and country you are buying? Holafly changes its plans, so an old complaint may no longer apply. A better source for faults is Holafly's own FAQ, which is candid about hotspot and speed limits, as we explain on Holafly unlimited data.

Do the verified prices match the sales pitch?

Here we can be specific. We read 44 countries at Holafly's checkout, in USD, on 18 August 2026. Holafly sells six lengths in all of them, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days, all unlimited. Germany costs $73.90 for 30 days. Spain costs $64.50. India costs $111.90 for the same product.

Against the other sellers we have read, Holafly is usually the dearer one. Airalo's verified unlimited month is $59 in Germany, $63 in Spain and $69 in Japan, against Holafly's $73.90, $64.50 and $73.90. Holafly does win some short plans: in Canada its 3-day plan is $17.90, under Airalo's $19 and Nomad's $18. So a review that calls it just "expensive" or just "good value" is leaving out half the table.

What does a review of Holafly leave out?

Three things we looked for and did not find. Holafly's pages name no host network, so you cannot choose a carrier. Its Unlimited Global page does not mention fair use. And its FAQ gives no gigabyte threshold for slowdowns. Where a review states any of these as fact, ask where it got them.

The eSIM itself is data-only, per Holafly. You keep your own number and use WhatsApp or iMessage for calls, apart from its monthly and annual subscription plans, which add a number for receiving texts (see our page on the Holafly phone number).

So how should you read Holafly reviews?

Treat the rating as a sign the company is big and that most buyers are content, not as proof the price is right for your trip. For a short, heavy trip, the day-based unlimited plans are simple and the premium over Airalo is a few dollars. For a month, the difference is $1.50 to $15 in the countries we compared (Spain to Germany and India).

How reliable is a review of an eSIM provider?

Be a little sceptical of any review of an eSIM, including this one. An eSIM either connects or it does not on a given phone, on a given network, on a given day, and a single traveller's experience says little about yours. A thousand five-star ratings can be earned by a plan that works on one carrier and fails on another.

That is why we prefer checkable facts: the price at checkout, the durations on sale, the stated limits. Those do not depend on luck. Holafly reviews that quote a throttling figure or a hotspot cap as certain should name where they read it, because Holafly's own FAQ gives no gigabyte number for either.

The main Holafly page has the full price breakdown, Holafly alternatives lists who to compare, and how we test explains what verified means. Prices are checked at one date, so confirm at checkout, and check whether you need a Holafly discount code (there is no published one). For the cheapest option overall, see cheapest eSIM.

Common questions

Are Holafly reviews good?

Holafly's own homepage shows 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from more than 114,000 reviews, but the widget says it shows four- and five-star reviews only, so it is a selection. We have not tested the service ourselves, and we cannot give a verdict from other people's posts.

What do Holafly reviews on Reddit say?

We did not read Reddit for this page and will not invent posts. If you read the threads yourself, check how recent each post is and whether the person bought the same country and plan length as you, because Holafly changes its plans and an old complaint may no longer apply.

Is Holafly worth it according to the prices?

For short trips, sometimes. Across the countries we compared it is usually dearer than Airalo's unlimited plans, though it wins a few short plans, such as Canada at 3 days for $17.90 against Airalo's $19. For a month, the gap runs from $1.50 in Spain to about $15 in Germany.

Does Holafly publish how many customers it has?

No customer total on the pages we read. Holafly claims more than 25 million eSIMs sold, which counts eSIMs, not people, so one traveller buying several plans is counted several times. Treat the figure as a sign of size rather than of how many people are satisfied.

Are the Holafly prices on this site checked?

Yes. We read 44 countries at Holafly's checkout on 18 August 2026, in US dollars, and every row was an unlimited plan at 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 or 30 days. Prices can change, so confirm at checkout. We have not bought or tested a Holafly eSIM ourselves.
