Holafly unlimited data: what it means, what it caps, how the price is set

Holafly unlimited data has no gigabyte cap, but Holafly's own FAQ says speeds can drop after heavy use and that hotspot is not unlimited. Here is how the price works.

Holafly unlimited data means there is no gigabyte allowance on the plan. It does not mean the connection runs at full speed all day, and it does not mean you can share it freely with a laptop. Both limits are written on Holafly's own FAQ, and we read it on 8 October 2026.

What does Holafly unlimited mean?

On holafly.com, "unlimited" describes the data allowance only. Holafly says it sells unlimited plans for more than 200 destinations, and that you can check a destination page for the "Unlimited data plans" card to confirm a given plan qualifies. There is no counter ticking down, and you never top up.

That is a different product from the metered plans most rivals sell. Holafly unlimited data is priced by the number of days, not by gigabytes, which is why Holafly never shows up in the per-gigabyte ranking on our cheapest eSIM page. There is nothing to divide by.

Is there a fair use limit on Holafly unlimited?

Yes, in a soft form. Holafly's FAQ says some network operators apply a fair usage policy that can lower your speed after a certain amount of high-speed use, especially when the network is busy. Holafly describes the slowdown as coming from the local operator rather than from Holafly, and says it lasts no longer than a day, with normal speed returning the next day.

Here is what that page does not say. It gives no gigabyte figure at which the slowdown starts, and no speed you will be dropped to. Other websites quote numbers. We are not repeating them, because we could not find them on Holafly's side and they disagree with each other. If you need a number, the FAQ points to the technical specs on each destination page.

What is the Holafly hotspot rule?

This is the catch that matters most for a laptop. Holafly's FAQ says the hotspot is not unlimited, to protect network integrity, and sends you to each destination's technical specs for the allowance.

On the two regional pages we read, the allowance is plain: 1 GB of shared data per day, so a 7-day plan lets you share up to 7 GB. That is on the Asia and Europe pages. Holafly's separate monthly Unlimited Global plan is described differently, as including unlimited hotspot sharing. So the Holafly hotspot allowance depends on which product you buy, and the page for your destination is the only safe place to check. If you plan to tether for work, read that line before paying.

How is the Holafly unlimited price set per day?

Holafly sells six lengths in every country we have read: 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days. You choose the length, and the price follows from it. The longer plans cost more in total and less per day.

Twenty-nine of the 44 countries we read share one ladder to the cent, from Austria and Germany to Japan and Vietnam. These are the prices we read off the Holafly checkout on 18 August 2026, in USD:

DurationPricePer day
3 days$11.90$3.97
5 days$20.50$4.10
7 days$27.50$3.93
10 days$36.50$3.65
15 days$50.50$3.37
30 days$73.90$2.46

Spain and Italy sit on a cheaper ladder ($64.50 for 30 days), and India costs $111.90 for the same month. So the zone sets the ladder and the day count sets the rung. Five days is a slight oddity, because it works out dearer per day than three.

Is Holafly unlimited worth it against a metered plan?

For three to seven days of unpredictable use, often yes: the price is simple and there is nothing to run out. For a month it is harder. In Germany the verified Holafly month is $73.90, while Airalo's verified unlimited month is $59, and Airalo's 50 GB plan is $36 (both read on 18 August 2026). The full comparison from Airalo's side is at Airalo vs Holafly, and our Holafly page holds the wider price picture.

Who suits Holafly unlimited data, and who does not?

Holafly unlimited data suits a short trip where you cannot guess your usage: three days of maps, photos and video calls, or a week of working from cafes. The word "unlimited" removes the worry about running out, and that worry is what you pay for.

It suits a month-long stay less. Over thirty days the same Holafly unlimited price buys far more gigabytes than most people use, and a metered plan is cheaper. It also suits heavy tethering poorly, because the daily hotspot allowance on the regional plans is 1 GB. If you read nothing else about Holafly unlimited data, read that line twice.

A last practical note. Holafly sells the same unlimited idea in two shapes: day-based plans at 3 to 30 days, and a monthly subscription that renews every 30 days and is billed at 59.95 euros a month when paid monthly, per its plan page. The day-based plans are the ones priced throughout this page. The subscription is a different purchase with different terms, so do not mix the two when you compare prices.

One more thing we could not find: the monthly Holafly Unlimited Global plan page does not mention fair use at all, so we cannot tell you whether the same rule applies there. We would rather say so than guess. Prices change, so check the checkout, and note there is no Holafly discount code worth chasing.

Common questions

What does Holafly unlimited data mean?

There is no gigabyte cap on the plan, so you never run out of data or top up. Holafly's own FAQ adds two limits: some network operators slow speeds after heavy high-speed use, and the hotspot is not unlimited. Holafly prices the plan by the number of days, from 3 to 30.

Does Holafly unlimited slow down?

It can. Holafly says an operator's fair usage policy may lower speeds after a certain level of high-speed use, especially when the network is busy, and that the slowdown lasts no longer than a day. Holafly does not publish the gigabyte threshold or the speed you drop to, so we cannot give either.

Can I use the Holafly hotspot with a laptop?

Yes, within a limit. The Asia and Europe pages we read allow 1 GB of shared data per day, so 7 GB over a 7-day plan. The monthly Unlimited Global plan is described as including unlimited hotspot. Check the destination page before paying if you plan to tether for work.

How is the Holafly unlimited price set per day?

By length, in six steps: 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days. In Japan that runs from $11.90 for 3 days to $73.90 for 30, which works out at $2.46 a day on the longest plan (checked 18 August 2026). Longer plans cost more in total and less per day.

Is Holafly unlimited data cheaper than Airalo?

Rarely. In Germany, Holafly's 30-day plan is $73.90 against Airalo's $59 unlimited month, both read on 18 August 2026. Across same-length unlimited pairs we compared, Airalo was cheaper in 223 of 248 and Holafly in 18. Holafly's wins are mostly short plans, such as 3 days in Canada.
