Holafly's 18 wins come at lengths of 3 to 15 days in eight countries: Canada, India, Morocco, South Africa, Argentina, Colombia, Albania and South Korea. The margins run from $0.10 to $5.50. Holafly's own price is the same in 29 countries we checked: $11.90 for 3 days and $73.90 for 30 days. Airalo's varies by country, which is why it undercuts Holafly in some and not others.

Which is better for hotspot, calls and top-ups?

Hotspot: Airalo's fair use policy says tethering is allowed with no limit on devices. Holafly is less clear, because the allowance depends on the product. Its regional trip plans allow 1 GB of sharing a day, its monthly Unlimited Global plan is described as including unlimited hotspot, and a separate Holafly page for its business product mentions a 10 GB daily pause. Check the plan page before you pay.

Calls and texts: Holafly's homepage says calls and SMS are not supported, so use WhatsApp or iMessage. Airalo's help centre says some packages, such as Discover+ global eSIMs, include calls and texts.

Top-ups: Airalo's help centre says you can top up an eSIM from the app, and that validity cannot be extended. The Holafly pages we read did not describe a top-up for the standard plan. We cannot say whether one exists.

In Airalo vs Holafly, what changes on a one-week trip?

For a week, the gap is small enough to ignore. Seven days of unlimited in Italy is $23 on Airalo and $23.90 on Holafly; in Germany it is $24 against $27.50; in Japan $27 against $27.50. So the question for a week away is less about cost than about what else you want: a metered plan to save money, calls on a Discover+ plan, or one unlimited product with a backup gigabyte afterwards. Holafly's 1 GB "Always On" benefit, per its homepage, resets every 30 days and does not roll over.

For a month the comparison above changes. Airalo's 30-day unlimited undercuts Holafly's in all 40 countries where we hold both, by $1.50 in Spain and $14.90 in Germany. Remember these are August 2026 readings, and either seller may have changed since.

Where does Holafly make sense?

Holafly's argument is simplicity: no size to choose. It also advertises a 1 GB "Always On" backup after your plan ends, in 150-plus countries per its homepage. For a three-to-seven-day trip the price gap versus Airalo is a dollar or two in most places we checked. Paying more for a month is harder to justify: Airalo's 50 GB metered plan is $29 to $45 across most of Europe in our data, against $73.90 for Holafly's month.

Neither seller names its host network on the pages we read. The unlimited allowances differ in detail too, covered in Airalo unlimited data. For other options see Airalo alternatives, Airalo vs Nomad, the Holafly page, the Airalo review and our cheapest eSIM ranking.
