If you searched Nomad eSIM vs Airalo, the short answer is that it depends on the country and on the plan size, so use the table below.

Nomad eSIM vs Airalo, plan by plan

Germany50 GB / 30 days$36$32
Turkey20 GB / 30 days$22.50$20

United States5 GB / 30 days$13.50$16
United States50 GB / 30 days$42$57
Thailand50 GB$27.50 (30 days)$12 (10 days)

Nomad's $57 for the United States was marked as a sale price when we read it (list $60). The United States is where Airalo's lead is clearest. Elsewhere in the data, Nomad is cheaper in Canada ($69 against $84 for 50 GB) and Japan, where its 50 GB month is $35 and we hold no Airalo 50 GB row. Where both sell 20 GB over 30 days, Nomad is cheaper in 36 of the 43 countries.

Where does Airalo still win?

Airalo wins on breadth. It is the only seller we hold a price for in 46 of 94 countries, so in China, Hong Kong, Kenya and many others there is no Nomad to compare. It also has unlimited plans in 83 countries at six lengths, and regional and global plans, covered on Airalo global eSIM. Nomad has unlimited rows in 45 countries in our data, at lengths between 3 and 30 days, including some, like 14 and 21 days, that Airalo does not use. On unlimited the two trade places: in Spain 7 days is $23.50 on Airalo and $25 on Nomad, but in Japan it is $27 against $25.

Nomad's strength is the long tail of plan shapes: its checked rows include 45-day, 180-day and 365-day plans, and its homepage lists long-term "Global-EX" plans covering 54 or 82 destinations. Airalo's regional and global products serve a similar need.

What do they say about features?

Nomad's homepage, read on 8 October 2026, says you can buy an add-on for an eSIM you already have, that hotspot and tethering are supported, and that some eSIMs include a local number. It mentions over 200 destinations. Airalo's help centre says you can top up from the app, that validity cannot be extended, and that its unlimited plans are subject to a daily threshold (see Airalo unlimited data). Neither shows a host network in the pages and data we checked.

How big is the gap between Airalo and Nomad in practice?

Small on small plans, wider on large ones. At 5 GB for 30 days the two are within two dollars in Germany ($11.50 and $10), Spain ($9 and $9) and Turkey ($10 and $9). At 20 GB the gap opens in the United Kingdom ($31 and $25). At 50 GB for 30 days, Nomad is cheaper in Germany, Turkey and Spain, by between three and a half and four dollars, and the same price in Italy. So the Airalo vs Nomad choice matters most when you plan to use a lot of data, and hardly at all when you plan to use a little.

One thing to check at checkout: Airalo sells two named tiers in fourteen countries at different prices for the same data, and Nomad had nine plans marked on sale when we read it. Both of these move the answer by a few dollars, so price the exact plan, not the brand.

In Airalo vs Nomad, which should you buy?

For a month in one country with 20 GB or more, price Nomad first. For a trip to somewhere Nomad does not sell, or for a regional plan, Airalo. For a few days of heavy use, compare the unlimited prices above. The full Airalo pricing guide has the Airalo side country by country, and Airalo alternatives covers the rest. Our Nomad page and Airalo review have each seller's full history, and the cheapest eSIM ranking sorts them all.
