Holafly hotspot: can you share your data, and how much?
Holafly's current pages say hotspot is available on many plans, with the daily allowance shown on each destination page. The older claim that Holafly has no tethering is out of date.
Does Holafly allow a hotspot?
Yes, on many plans. Older descriptions of Holafly say its unlimited plans have no hotspot or tethering. We checked Holafly's site on 8 October 2026 and that does not match what Holafly says now. Its hotspot help page says hotspot use is available on many Holafly eSIMs, as long as your destination and plan allow it. So the question about a Holafly hotspot is now how much, not whether.
How much Holafly hotspot data do you get?
Two Holafly pages give slightly different answers, and we are not going to paper over it.
- Holafly's home page says the shareable data is 1 GB per day, so a seven-day plan includes up to 7 GB for sharing.
- The hotspot help article gives no figure. It says the daily allowance appears on each destination's page, in MB.
So treat 1 GB a day as Holafly's headline number and check the card on your destination page before buying. To find it, search your destination on Holafly.com, open the page, scroll to "Advantages of using Holafly eSIM", and read the card titled "Share your data with family and friends".
The help article does not say what happens when you use up the allowance. Nor does it say which destinations or plans are included or excluded. The terms and conditions we read do not mention hotspot or tethering at all.
Does the Holafly hotspot count against unlimited data?
Holafly says hotspot traffic counts toward your total data, sometimes by a large amount, especially with several devices connected. It suggests using its data usage estimator and including your expected hotspot time. The "unlimited" in an unlimited plan is also qualified by the terms: Holafly's terms say the network provider can restrict speed or use if it considers usage excessive. Our Holafly hub goes into what that means for price.
How to turn on the Holafly hotspot
From Holafly's help article:
- iPhone: Settings, Personal Hotspot, then switch on "Allow Others to Join". Join from the other device using the Wi-Fi name shown there.
- Android: Settings, Connections, Mobile Hotspot and Tethering, then Mobile Hotspot, and switch it on. Tap Mobile Hotspot to see the network name and password.
Make sure the Holafly line is the active data line first, as in how to activate Holafly eSIM. Otherwise you will share your home SIM's data instead.
If the other device will not connect, Holafly suggests toggling airplane mode, restarting, and reconnecting. It has separate hotspot troubleshooting pages for iPhone and Android.
Holafly Plans are different
Holafly also sells monthly "Holafly Plans". Holafly's home page lists unlimited hotspot with its unlimited subscription and sharing on its 25 GB plan. We did not verify a current price for those plans against our price data, so we give none here. Check the plan page. If you need a number for the plan, see Holafly phone number.
What we could not find
Holafly does not state, in the pages we read, a speed limit on hotspot traffic, a cap on the number of connected devices on trip plans, or what changes after the daily allowance is gone. If heavy tethering is why you are buying, ask Holafly support in writing and compare other providers on cheapest eSIM. Also see how Holafly works.
We have not tested Holafly's plans, app or support ourselves. This page is desk research from Holafly's own site and help centre, read on 8 October 2026, and Holafly changes its rules from time to time.
Common questions
Does Holafly have a hotspot?
Yes, on many plans. Holafly's hotspot help page says hotspot use is available on many Holafly eSIMs, provided your destination and plan allow it. The daily allowance is shown on each destination page. Older claims that Holafly has no tethering do not match what Holafly says on its site today.
How much hotspot data does Holafly give?
Holafly's home page says shareable data is 1 GB per day, so a seven-day plan includes up to 7 GB. Its hotspot help article gives no figure and says the allowance is listed in MB on each destination page. Check the "Share your data with family and friends" card on your destination page before you buy.
How do I turn on the Holafly hotspot?
On iPhone, open Settings, then Personal Hotspot, and switch on Allow Others to Join. On Android, go to Settings, Connections, Mobile Hotspot and Tethering, then Mobile Hotspot, and switch it on. Make sure the Holafly line is the active data line first, or you will share your home SIM's data.
Does the Holafly hotspot use my unlimited data?
Yes. Holafly says hotspot traffic counts toward your total data, sometimes by a large amount, especially with several devices connected. Holafly suggests using its data usage estimator and including your expected hotspot time. Its terms also say the network provider can restrict speed if it considers usage excessive.
What happens when I use up the Holafly hotspot allowance?
The pages we read do not say. Holafly's help article does not describe what changes after the daily allowance is gone, which destinations or plans are excluded, or any speed limit on hotspot traffic. Ask Holafly support in writing before you rely on tethering for work.
