Holafly in Germany, measured against a verified rival

The prices we hold

Holafly sells Germany as unlimited data over a fixed number of days. These figures were read off Holafly's own site on 18 August 2026.

A correction. This page previously listed a one-day German plan at $5.90 and a 90-day at $139.90, alongside prices of $19.90, $29.90, $39.90 and $59.90. Holafly sells six durations — 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days — in Germany and in every other country. The one-day and 90-day plans do not exist, and every price we printed for the durations that do was too low, the month by $14.

The network listing is worth reading carefully, because it was never Holafly's. Our one-day row listed Deutsche Telekom alone; the multi-day rows listed Telekom and Vodafone together. That disagreement was the clue: both came from our own older data, and reading Holafly's country pages found no carrier named for Germany or for anywhere else. Assume you do not know which network you land on.

Why the network question is the whole review

In Germany, Telekom is not one option among four. It has the widest rural and highway coverage, the fastest average download at 68.9 Mbps, and 98% 5G availability. The known German coverage gaps — rural Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Bavarian alpine areas, Baltic island minor roads on Ruegen and Usedom, deep Black Forest valleys — are largely gaps in everyone else's network, and some Autobahn stretches are covered only by Telekom.

A multi-network profile is fine for Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. It is a gamble in the Black Forest. If your trip is rural, do not rely on a plan that might land you on Vodafone for the week — though the alternative is thin. Nobody names Telekom specifically. Saily and Nomad both used to appear on that list and no longer do: neither publishes a host network in any country. eSIM Go appeared to name it too, against a $9 row for 3GB over 30 days — but that came from our own generated text, and eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers and publishes no consumer price — checked on esim-go.com on 18 August 2026, where there is no basket, no checkout and no per-country page — so its rows cannot be bought or ever verified. The comparison that actually matters

Airalo and Nomad both sell unlimited data for Germany, and both ladders were read from their own sites.

This page used to say the two were within a couple of dollars of each other at every length, and that Holafly edged ten and fifteen days. On the verified numbers there is no contest: Holafly is the dearest at all six, by 90 cents at three days, $6.50 at ten, $8.50 at fifteen and $14.90 at thirty. Germany is one of Airalo's cheapest unlimited markets and Holafly charges its standard European rate, so the gap widens as the trip lengthens.

No hotspot, and what it costs you

Holafly's German plan does not support hotspot tethering. That rules out sharing with a travelling partner, getting a laptop online in an apartment, and putting a tablet on the ICE. For a solo traveller on a phone it is irrelevant. For two people trying to split one plan it is the end of the discussion — buy two small fixed-data plans instead and you will spend less anyway.

Where fixed data wins outright

Unlimited is a convenience product, and in Germany the convenience is not cheap. Nomad's verified 20GB month is $21 and its verified 50GB month is $32, against Holafly's $73.90 for thirty days. Unless you are streaming video on cellular daily, 20GB is a lot of Germany — and Nomad's 50GB month costs $41.90 less than a month of Holafly's unlimited.

The verdict

We would not buy Holafly for Germany. If you want uncapped data, Airalo and Nomad sell it for less at every length, and the month is $14.90 cheaper from Airalo. If you can live inside 50GB, which nearly everyone can, Nomad's $32 month is well under half the price.

It remains the wrong product for rural Germany, where the network matters more than the allowance and nobody names one, and the wrong product for anyone who needs to tether. The full comparison is on our Germany hub, and our method is set out at how we test.
