Saily in Finland: the cheapest way in, and the point where it stops paying

Five plans, and a ceiling that moved

Saily sells five metered Finland plans: one week-long starter and four monthly ones, all capped, none unlimited. Every price below was read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026, and every one is lower than the figures this page used to carry.

Three of those were two to four dollars too high, and the 20GB month we did not know existed at all. None of the old numbers had been read off Saily's checkout; they came from a generated record that gave Saily the same round figures in country after country.

The ceiling is still worth noting, because it has moved only one rung. Saily's largest Finland plan is 20GB. If you want 50GB or unlimited, this is not the shop — Airalo sells both, Holafly sells unlimited by duration, and Saily sells neither.

The $3.99 headline is real

The cheapest price in the whole Finland market is Saily's: $3.99 for 1GB over seven days, against Airalo's verified $4 for 1GB over three. A cent is nothing, but four extra days is not, and for a weekend visitor who only needs maps and boarding passes, Saily is the correct answer.

Where it wins, and where it loses

Airalo's Finland prices were read from its own site on 13 August 2026. Over thirty days the two are now within a dollar of each other at every shared size.

Saily takes 5GB by a cent, which is the one-cent undercut that recurs between these two in most markets we have checked, and it takes 3GB outright because Airalo's cheapest three-gigabyte plan expires after a week. Airalo takes 10GB by 49 cents and 20GB by 99 cents.

That is close to the reverse of what this page used to say. On the old figures Saily was $3 to $4.50 dearer at 5GB and 10GB and the verdict was that everything above the entry plan was a mistake. It was not — the Saily prices that verdict rested on had never been read off Saily.

Above 20GB the argument ends. Airalo's verified 50GB for 30 days is $36 — 72 cents a gigabyte against Saily's best of $1.15 — and Saily has nothing to sell you.

What you get and what you don't

Tethering is supported on Saily's plans, which is not a given — Holafly's Finland plans are listed without it. If a laptop rides along with you, that alone rules out one of the three sellers we hold for Finland.

There are no calls or SMS. It is data only, so messaging happens over WhatsApp or similar, and you have no Finnish number for the taxi app or the cabin owner. Buying needs no passport, which is the practical advantage of any eSIM here: a Finnish prepaid SIM costs about $12 at the airport and comes with a local number, but registration requires a passport or national ID at a counter.

The network question

Saily does not publish which Finnish network its plans use, and we hold nothing for it. An earlier version of this page said DNA and Telia; that was scraped out of generated prose, not from Saily, and it has been removed. Nor does it make a difference in practice — none of the travel eSIMs in our Finland data lets you choose a host carrier, so the choice between them is a choice about price, size and tethering, never about signal.

What is true of Finland generally is that coverage is strong on the main E-roads and in the tourist towns, and thins in the Lapland wilderness and fell areas such as Saariselkä and Kevo, on remote lake islands, and in some border wilderness. That applies to whatever you buy.

The verdict

Buy Saily for Finland up to 5GB. The $3.99 week is the cheapest single plan in the country, the $6.99 3GB month is the cheapest thirty-day plan at that size, and the $9.99 5GB month shades Airalo by a cent.

From 10GB up, buy Airalo: a verified $15.50 and $22 against Saily's $15.99 and $22.99, and a verified 50GB at $36 if you want real volume.
