DNA Finland SIM card: prepaid eSIM and Rajaton for a visit

DNA sells a prepaid eSIM online and daily-rate prepaid SIMs in shops and kiosks across Finland. The rates are on its own page, and so are the gaps.

A DNA Finland SIM card is easy to find and easy to understand: DNA sells prepaid SIMs in shops, kiosks and supermarkets, plus a prepaid eSIM online. Whether it beats a travel eSIM depends on how long you stay. We read DNA's English prepaid page on 8 October 2026; DNA is part of the Telenor group, but that is not something its page states, so treat it as background.

Which DNA Finland SIM card should a visitor pick?

DNA lists four prepaid products. For a visitor the first two matter most.

  • DNA Rajaton Prepaid. Starter pack 4.90 EUR, with 5 EUR of balance included. Calls, texts and data cost a flat 0.99 EUR a day on 4G or 1.29 EUR a day on 5G, per DNA's page.
  • DNA Super Prepaid. Starter pack 4.90 EUR with 5 EUR balance. Calls and texts are 0.089 EUR each, and data is bought as packages.
  • DNA Prepaid eSIM. Ready to use on an eSIM-compatible phone, bought at prepaidesim.dna.fi, with 5 EUR of balance.
  • DNA Dataprepaid. A data SIM at 24.90 EUR for the starter pack, including 30 days of unlimited domestic data, aimed at devices rather than phones.

Examples of packages: Rajaton 7 days at 100M is 9.99 EUR, and Rajaton 5G 30 days at 400M is 34.99 EUR. Dataprepaid 7 days at 300M is 7.99 EUR. Prices are as listed on DNA's page on 8 October 2026.

Where can you buy a DNA prepaid SIM?

DNA says online at dna.fi or prepaidesim.dna.fi for the eSIM, and in person at DNA Kauppa stores, R-kioski, K- and S-group grocery stores and ABC fuel stations. That is a wide net, so a physical SIM is rarely hard to find in a town. The page does not name airport sales points.

Does a DNA prepaid SIM need ID?

DNA's page does not say whether you need ID to buy one. Registration appears only in connection with roaming blocks: a registered prepaid subscription can have one ordered through customer service. That hints registration is optional, but the page does not say so directly, so we do not claim it. Elisa's prepaid, by contrast, says it cannot be registered in your own name (see Elisa Finland).

DNA Finland SIM card coverage and speeds

DNA's prepaid page gives top speeds of 100, 300 or 400 Mbit/s depending on plan, says speed depends on location and network load, and lists 5G data packages. It links to a coverage map but does not give population coverage figures on that page. Our Finland notes call DNA strong on 5G speed; that is an unverified lead, not DNA's claim.

DNA prepaid or a travel eSIM in Finland?

If you land at Helsinki and stay a week, DNA's daily-rate Rajaton works out at about 7 EUR for seven days of 4G, plus the 4.90 EUR starter pack, with the 5 EUR balance offsetting part of it. A travel eSIM avoids the shop and works before landing. The trade-off is that DNA gives you a Finnish number and calls, which most eSIMs do not. Compare current prices on our Finland comparison and the cheapest eSIM page. The other two Finnish networks have their own pages: Elisa and Telia Finland. The Finland hub has the full guide.

What DNA's page does not say

It does not give the coverage figures, say how long the starter pack validity lasts, or confirm whether a foreign visitor can buy the eSIM with a non-Finnish card. We have not tested the service.

Common questions

Is a DNA Finland SIM card good for tourists?

It can be. DNA sells prepaid SIMs in shops, kiosks and supermarkets, and an eSIM online. Rajaton's flat daily rate suits short stays. For a few days with no need for a Finnish number, a travel eSIM may be simpler.

How much is a DNA prepaid SIM in Finland?

DNA's page lists starter packs at 4.90 EUR for Rajaton and Super Prepaid, each including 5 EUR of balance. Rajaton then charges 0.99 EUR a day on 4G or 1.29 EUR on 5G. Prices change, so check dna.fi.

Does DNA have an eSIM for visitors?

Yes. DNA Prepaid eSIM is sold at prepaidesim.dna.fi and is ready to use on eSIM-compatible devices, with 5 EUR of balance. DNA's page does not say whether a visitor needs a Finnish address or what payment methods are accepted.

Where can I buy a DNA SIM card in Finland?

DNA says you can buy online, at DNA Kauppa stores, R-kioski, K- and S-group grocery stores and ABC fuel stations. The page does not list airport shops, so check availability on arrival rather than assuming a kiosk will have one.

Do I need ID to buy a DNA prepaid SIM?

DNA's prepaid page does not say whether ID is required. It mentions registration only for ordering a roaming block. If you need certainty, ask in the DNA shop or its customer service before you buy.
