WOM Colombia SIM card: we could not open WOM's site, so here is what to check

WOM is the smaller of Colombia's local operators. Its website would not load for our tools on 8 October 2026, so this page says what we do not know and what to ask.

Can we say a WOM Colombia SIM card is a good choice?

No, and we would rather say so than invent an answer. On 8 October 2026 the wom.co address would not resolve from our tools: one request returned a connection failure, another found no such host. Without reading WOM's own pages we cannot tell you what a WOM Colombia SIM card costs, whether it has an eSIM, how it registers a foreign visitor, or how far its coverage reaches. We have no figure from WOM that we can stand behind, and we have not repeated any figure from elsewhere.

What should a visitor ask before buying a WOM Colombia prepaid line?

These are the questions a counter or WOM's support line should be able to answer:

  • Can a foreign visitor register a prepaid line with a passport alone?
  • Is there an eSIM, and does it work on your phone model?
  • What is the data allowance, and how many days does it last?
  • Does the price include the SIM itself?
  • What happens to the number after a few weeks without a top-up?

If an answer is vague, that is a reason to move on.

What do we know in general?

Very little that is specific to WOM. Colombia has four local operators in our batch: Claro, Movistar, Tigo and WOM. For the other three we could read official pages, and the Tigo page is the clearest on a visitor eSIM: an international prepaid plan listed on 8 October 2026 at COP 100,000 for 30 days.

WOM Colombia SIM card or a travel eSIM?

When the local option is this unclear, a travel eSIM is the low-risk choice for a first stop, because you can buy and install it before landing. Our our Colombia SIM comparison lays out the options, and our cheapest eSIM page covers price. You can also read the Colombia hub and where to buy a SIM in Colombia.

This page is thin on purpose. We will extend it once WOM's site can be read.

Common questions

Does WOM Colombia sell SIM cards to tourists?

We could not confirm it. WOM's website would not load for our tools on 8 October 2026, so we read no tourist offer and no registration rule. Ask a WOM point of sale whether a visitor can register a prepaid line with a passport, and get the answer before paying.

Does WOM Colombia have an eSIM?

We could not verify it, because wom.co did not load for us. If WOM offers one, check your phone model against its compatibility list and ask how a foreign visitor registers. A travel eSIM bought before you fly avoids those questions.

How good is WOM's coverage in Colombia?

We cannot say. We read no coverage claim or map from WOM, and we are not repeating any unverified figure. If you are travelling outside the main cities, check WOM's coverage map for your route or choose an operator whose coverage page you have read.

Is WOM cheaper than Claro or Tigo?

We cannot compare, because we could not read WOM's prices. For Tigo, its international prepaid eSIM page listed COP 100,000 for 30 days of unlimited data on 8 October 2026. Check current WOM prices at a store or on its site before judging.

What is the easiest way to get data in Colombia as a visitor?

A travel eSIM installed before departure gets you data on arrival without registration at a counter. A local line can cost less on a long stay. Our Colombia comparison page sets out the options, and you can add a local SIM later if you stay.
