Verizon USA SIM card: prepaid with no credit check, no visitor pass found
Verizon prepaid needs no credit check and sets up an eSIM in its app, but we found no short-stay visitor pass. Plans are monthly.
Is a Verizon USA SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
For a stay of a month or more, it can be. For a week, probably not. Verizon's prepaid page describes monthly plans with no credit check, and we found no short-stay visitor pass like those from AT&T or T-Mobile. We read Verizon's pages on 8 October 2026.
What does Verizon prepaid cost?
The prepaid page said you can bring your own phone to a single line for as low as $35 a month with Auto Pay after the first month, with no activation fee. It also listed four lines with unlimited 5G data at $35 per line and a three-year price lock on prepaid phone plans. Prices and promotions change, so check the page before you buy.
How do you set it up?
Verizon says prepaid has no annual contract and no credit check, and the eSIM page lists no activation fees. Verizon says eSIM setup needs no installation or extra cost and is managed through the My Verizon app. The pages we read do not mention passports, ID, or whether you can start it before you land, and they do not mention visitors specifically. Search results show Verizon pitching a prepaid line for a stay, with a full month of calls, text and data and a US number, but we could not see that wording on the page itself.
What does the 5G claim cover?
Verizon says 5G access is included with current prepaid plans, but 5G Ultra Wideband is limited to the $70 Unlimited Plus, 100 GB and 150 GB plans. The cheapest Talk & Text plan is limited to 2G speeds. If you need fast data, check which plan you are buying.
Phone lock
Verizon says devices bought from it or certain retailers stay locked for 365 days after activation. If you buy a Verizon phone, expect it to be locked for a year, so a visitor should bring their own unlocked phone.
Verizon coverage
Verizon's page makes no coverage percentage claim that we could quote. Third-party guides recommend Verizon for rural roads and national parks; we could not verify that on its site. Check its coverage map for your route.
Verizon versus a travel eSIM
If you want a US number and unlimited talk, a monthly Verizon plan can fit a long stay. For a short visit, a visitor eSIM from T-Mobile or AT&T or a travel eSIM bought before you fly is more flexible. See the USA comparison page. US Cellular is covered too.

How much is Verizon prepaid?

Yes. Verizon says eSIM setup needs no installation or extra cost and is managed through the My Verizon app, and its eSIM page lists no credit checks or activation fees. Your phone must support eSIM and be compatible with the Verizon network.
