Saily in Switzerland: a penny below the leader, until 20GB

Five plans, and a familiar shape

Saily sells 1GB over 7 days at $3.99, then 3GB, 5GB, 10GB and 20GB all over 30 days at $9.99, $13.99, $22.99 and $36.99. We read every one of those off Saily's own site on 16 August 2026, so they are verified figures rather than the indicative estimates we carried before — which matters a great deal when the margins in question are this thin. Hotspot tethering is supported throughout; no plan includes calls or SMS.

Look down the first two columns and the pattern is obvious for two rows and then gone. At 5GB and 10GB, Saily lands exactly one cent below the verified Airalo price. That is a pricing decision rather than a coincidence, and it is worth naming for what it is: a way to be technically cheapest without being cheaper by any amount a customer can spend.

Where it reverses

At 20GB the penny changes sides. Saily charges $36.99 where Airalo charges $36.00, so the seller that undercuts by a cent at the two sizes below is 99 cents dearer at the size above. Per gigabyte that is $1.85 against Airalo's $1.80.

Both of those numbers have now been read from the sellers' own sites, so this is a real difference in position rather than an artefact of one figure being older than the other. It is still not a large amount of money. What it does mean is that the tidy story about Saily always being a penny cheaper is no longer true in Switzerland, and any page still telling you it is has not looked recently.

The more serious problem at that size is a third provider. Nomad's 20GB / 30 days is $25 and its 10GB / 30 days is $20.50 — $11.99 and $2.49 below Saily at the two sizes long-stay travellers actually buy. Those figures were read off Nomad's own site on 17 August 2026, so the caveat this page used to attach to them has gone; the earlier, unchecked numbers were $33 and $22, and both were too high.

What only Saily sells

Two things, and both are real.

The first is 3GB with 30 days of validity at $9.99. Nobody else in our Swiss data offers three gigabytes over a month; the alternatives at that size are shorter-duration plans from Airalo. If your trip is spread over several weeks but your usage is light — a base in Zurich with wi-fi, occasional maps, messaging — that plan fits a shape nothing else covers.

The second is the entry plan: 1GB over 7 days at $3.99. Nomad's equivalent is $4.50 for identical terms. For a week of very light use, Saily's entry price is the sensible one.

The unlimited ladder we cannot price

Saily does sell unlimited data for Switzerland, and it sells more shapes of it than anyone else we have looked at: eight durations — 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 days. Every other country we have checked tops out at seven. The 20 and 25-day steps are lengths no rival offers at all, and they map neatly onto the three-week Alpine trip that otherwise forces you into a 30-day plan.

We hold no prices for any of them. They are absent from the table above and from every table on this site, and we are not going to estimate them — a made-up figure would be worse than an admitted gap. If your trip runs longer than a fortnight and you want uncapped data, this is the one part of Saily's Swiss range worth going and pricing yourself before you commit elsewhere.

Where the metered range runs out

At 20GB. There is no 50GB plan, which puts a ceiling on Saily's metered ladder in a country where data gets expensive to run short of. Airalo's verified 50GB / 30 days is $45 — $8.01 over Saily's 20GB for thirty extra gigabytes, and 90 cents a gigabyte against Saily's $1.85. Anyone tethering a laptop or streaming on long train journeys should be looking at that plan rather than the top of this one.

The network question, which matters here

Saily publishes no host network for Switzerland. We read its site on 16 August 2026 and it names no operator — not for the Swiss plans, and not for any other country either. Our data used to carry a Swisscom and Sunrise listing against its two smallest Swiss plans; that came from older generated prose rather than from Saily, and it has gone. Saily now sits alongside Airalo as a seller that tells you nothing about the network you are buying.

In Switzerland that is a genuine limitation rather than a technicality. Coverage thins on high-altitude runs and off-piste terrain above 3,000 m, drops out above certain altitudes near the Matterhorn summit, and disappears on remote hiking trails. Which network your phone is on decides whether you have signal in those places, and neither of the two cheapest sellers here will tell you which one that is before you pay. Nomad and Holafly name none either, and the operator listings this page used to carry against Holafly and eSIMCard came from our own data.

If the mountains are the point of the trip, buy a local prepaid SIM instead: around $20 at the airport, no ID required, and Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt Mobile all sell them so you can choose the operator yourself.

Verdict

Buy Saily's 3GB / 30 days if that unusual shape fits your trip, and its 1GB / 7 days if a week of light use is all you need. Those two plans are genuinely the best of their kind in our Swiss data.

At 5GB and 10GB it is a coin flip with Airalo decided by a cent, so choose on preference. At 20GB the argument is over: Saily is dearer than Airalo and nearly twelve dollars dearer than Nomad, and the verified 50GB plans at $43 and $45 are better value than anything Saily sells by the gigabyte.
