Vodafone Spain SIM card: prepaid SIM or eSIM from 10 euros

Vodafone Spain sells four prepaid bundles from 10 to 30 euros per 28 days, as a SIM or an eSIM at the same price. Prices read 8 October 2026.

A Vodafone Spain SIM card is easy to buy ahead of a trip: Vodafone's English prepaid page lists four bundles from 10 to 30 euros, each available as a SIM or an eSIM at the same price. The eSIM is activated digitally with a QR code or a web page. The gap on that page is identification, which it does not mention.

This is desk research from Vodafone's public pages, read on 8 October 2026. We have not tested the service.

What can a visitor buy with a Vodafone Spain SIM card?

The page lists, per 28 days: S at 10 euros (90 GB, 500 minutes, 15 GB roaming in the EU and UK), M at 15 euros (270 GB, 2,000 minutes, 23 GB roaming in the EU, UK and US), L at 20 euros (330 GB, 3,000 minutes, 30 GB roaming) and XL at 30 euros (380 GB, 3,000 minutes, 45 GB roaming). An extra 30 GB promotion is shown on all plans. Calls are unlimited nationally. Data-only plans exist separately for travel to Spain or the EU, but the page lists no prices for them. A first top-up is needed before the GB and minutes work.

Can you get a Vodafone Spain eSIM?

Yes, for prepaid. Vodafone says the eSIM is activated digitally by QR code or web page, and payment can be by card, Bizum, Google Pay or Apple Pay. To check your phone supports eSIM, dial *#06# and look for an EID. The eSIM-specific site, esimprepago.vodafone.es, only returned its page title to us, so we could not read its own rules.

How does the Vodafone Spain SIM card arrive?

The physical SIM is free and delivered in 24 to 48 hours (48 to 72 for Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands) when ordered online. The page does not say prepaid SIMs are sold in Vodafone stores. Insert it and it connects, or dial *138#.

What ID does Vodafone ask for?

The page we read does not mention identity registration or passports. The page is silent on ID. Check Vodafone's help pages before you rely on a tourist passport.

What does Vodafone say about 5G?

5G is included on all plans, subject to coverage. No coverage percentages are given, so we cannot confirm that Vodafone is stronger than Movistar or Orange in a given city.

How does it compare with a travel eSIM in Spain?

A Vodafone Spain SIM card with eSIM is the carrier option closest to a travel eSIM, since both install by QR code, but it gives a Spanish number with big data bundles. It has a 28-day cycle, which is long for a short trip. Our Spain SIM card comparison sets the options side by side, where to buy a SIM card in Spain and the airport SIM card guide cover shops, and cheapest eSIM covers data-only plans. We do not name the local network behind travel eSIMs unless the provider publishes it.

The other Spanish carriers in this series are Movistar, Orange Spain / MásMóvil, Yoigo and Digi Mobil. The Spain hub links the rest.

How fast does Vodafone deliver a SIM in Spain?
