Yettel Serbia SIM card: prepaid packages, an eSIM webshop and registration

Yettel sells prepaid packages with 15-day validity and an eSIM webshop. New numbers must be registered, with a passport photo in the app.

Is a Yettel Serbia SIM card a good choice for a visitor?

It looks like a solid one. Yettel's English site documents prepaid packages, an eSIM you can buy online, and a registration process that accepts a passport. We read its pages on 8 October 2026.

What can a visitor buy?

Yettel's prepaid packages page listed three packages, all valid 15 days. Prepaid Plus was 150 GB for 950 dinars, Prepaid was 100 GB for 600 dinars, and Transit was 500 GB plus 500 MB of data in a list of European countries for 1,200 dinars. All three showed speeds up to 50 Mbps and per-minute and per-SMS rates. Those prices are what the page showed on the day we read it and may change. The bonus add-ons on the two basic packages could be bought repeatedly until 2 December 2026, according to the page.

The Transit package is the only one with roaming data. The page calls its list EU countries, but it also names some non-EU ones, so read the list before you cross a border.

Physical SIM or eSIM?

Yettel says you can buy an eSIM online from its eSIM webshop, with activation details emailed to you. A physical SIM is activated by calling any number. The page does not say which shops or airport outlets sell the physical SIM, and it links a shop locator under Support. Yettel also has eSIM packages with unlimited data from 1 to 30 days, counted from the moment of installation, according to a separate page. Check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM first.

Registration

New prepaid numbers must be registered since 10 February 2025, which Yettel's notice states, and unregistered numbers can be limited to emergency calls and Yettel's contact centre for 90 days before deactivation. Yettel says registration can be done without visiting a shop: photograph your ID card or passport, then your face, in the app. The eID government portal is an alternative for people with an account. The bonus add-on activates once both the SIM and the registration are complete.

Yettel coverage

Yettel's prepaid page states only the maximum speed of up to 50 Mbps. We found no coverage claim to quote. A third-party note says Yettel offers a tourist plan with no ID at some locations; that predates the registration rule, so do not rely on it. Check Yettel's coverage map.

Yettel versus a travel eSIM

A Yettel eSIM gives a local number and more data than most travel eSIMs, at the cost of registration. A travel eSIM installs at home with no Serbian paperwork. Compare them on the Serbia comparison page. Other carriers: A1 Serbia and Telekom Srbija (mts).
