Telekom Srbija Serbia SIM card: mts tourist prepaid and registration

mts, Telekom Srbija's mobile brand, has run tourist prepaid offers with large data packs. Registration is required, and some pages we saw are old.

Is a Telekom Srbija Serbia SIM card a good choice for a visitor?

Probably, if you can handle registration. Telekom Srbija sells mobile service under the mts brand, and its site carries tourist prepaid promotions. The problem is currency: several pages we saw are undated or a few years old, and the site was in Serbian, so we kept to what the excerpts clearly said. We read mts's pages on 8 October 2026, mostly through search excerpts.

What tourist offers does mts list?

mts promotions we found describe a "Super Turist SIM" prepaid card with a large data bundle and unlimited minutes inside the mts network for the first 30 days from activation, sold online, and a "Turist SIM" with an initial 75 GB at full speed usable for five days. A news item said the Super Tourist SIM had its initial data increased twentyfold. An older promotion listed a tourist SIM with 72 hours of unlimited 4G for a price in dinars. We are not quoting any prices, because the pages are not clearly current. Look at the mts site for what is on offer today.

mts also lists a data SIM from mtel Austria for use in Serbia and nearby countries, which must be registered in an mts store.

Registration

Prepaid SIMs must be registered, and mts says that can be done on its registration page or at the nearest mts store. Since 10 February 2025, registering all new prepaid numbers has been mandatory under Serbian law, as other operators' pages state. mts announced digital onboarding with video identification, where you scan an ID card or passport, photograph your face and complete a video call. That announcement is about three years old, so we cannot say foreign visitors can use it today. Call mts on its customer line or visit a store with your passport.

eSIM

mts has an eSIM page for its business tariffs, but we found no confirmed tourist eSIM for consumers. If you want a consumer eSIM in Serbia, A1 Serbia and Yettel both document one.

Telekom Srbija coverage

We found no coverage statement on mts pages we could read. Third-party guides credit Telekom Srbija with the widest rural coverage and 5G launched in late 2025; we could not confirm either on its own site. Use its coverage map for mountains and rural areas.

mts versus a travel eSIM

An mts tourist SIM gives a local number and big data bundles for a short stay, at the cost of registration and a store trip. A travel eSIM installs before you fly. The Serbia comparison page lines them up.
