Plus Poland SIM card: how to register a prepaid starter

Plus requires prepaid registration by law. The routes include the iPlus app, a store, SMS and a bank, with passport or residence card details. Read 8 October 2026.

A Plus Poland SIM card is Polkomtel's prepaid starter, and the main thing a visitor needs to know is the registration step. The pages we could read did not give starter prices, an eSIM offer or tourist plans, so this page is mostly about registration.

This is desk research from Plus's public pages, read on 8 October 2026. We have not tested the service.

What does a visitor need to register a Plus prepaid SIM?

Plus's knowledge-base article says registration is required to use prepaid services under the anti-terrorism law of 25 July 2016. You need the phone number, the 13-digit SIM serial number, and an identity document. For foreigners from outside the EU, the article we opened mentions a residence card (karta pobytu); other Plus material we saw in search results mentions a passport number as well. We could not confirm from one page that a tourist passport is accepted, so confirm in a Plus store.

How can you register a Plus Poland SIM card?

The article lists these routes: the iPlus app (up to three numbers per user), the website zarejestrujplus.pl, a free SMS to 80106, an in-person visit to a Plus store or partner point, or via a Millennium Bank login. The SMS route needs an existing Plus number, so it does not help a newcomer. The app and online routes use bank or mObywatel verification in the material we saw, which is awkward without a Polish bank. A store visit is the practical option for a visitor. The article states no deadline and no consequence for skipping registration.

What does Plus sell to visitors?

We could not find prepaid prices. Plus's main page lists postpaid plans and instalment phones. It has an "Na karte" (prepaid) tab and a top-up link, but the contents were not shown, and it mentions a starter shop at starter.plus.pl that we did not open. Plus eSIM prepaid availability is not confirmed on the pages we read.

What does Plus say about coverage?

Nothing we could verify. The claim that Plus has good rural coverage comes from a competitor's blog and is unconfirmed.

How does it compare with a travel eSIM in Poland?

A Plus Poland SIM card is the carrier option with the least visitor information on its pages, and its registration is awkward without a Polish bank. A travel eSIM avoids registration with a local carrier. Our Poland SIM card comparison sets the options side by side, our where to buy a SIM card in Poland page covers shops, and cheapest eSIM covers data-only plans. We do not name the local network behind travel eSIMs unless the provider publishes it.

The other Polish carriers in this series are Orange Polska, Play and T-Mobile Poland. The Poland hub links the rest, including Warsaw Chopin Airport.

Common questions

Is a Plus Poland SIM card good for tourists?

We cannot confirm it from Plus's own pages. They gave no prepaid prices or eSIM details we could read, and registration is mandatory. Without a Polish bank, expect to register in a Plus store. Other Polish carriers show clearer visitor offers, so compare them too.

How do I register a Plus prepaid SIM?

Plus lists the iPlus app, zarejestrujplus.pl, a free SMS to 80106, a Plus store or partner point, and Millennium Bank login. You need the phone number, the 13-digit SIM serial number and an identity document. The SMS route needs an existing Plus number.

Can a foreigner register a Plus SIM?

Yes in principle: Plus's article lists documents for foreigners, naming a residence card for non-EU citizens, and other Plus material mentions a passport number. We could not confirm from one page that a tourist passport suffices, so check in a store.

Does Plus offer an eSIM for prepaid?

We could not confirm it. The Plus pages we read did not show a prepaid eSIM offer or price, although a Plus document in search results mentions registering an eSIM serial number. Ask Plus in a store before you plan around it, or use a travel eSIM instead.

What happens if I do not register a Plus SIM?

Plus's article says registration is required to use prepaid services under the 2016 law but does not describe the consequences or give a deadline. Other Polish operators describe unregistered cards as not working or blocked, so register straight after buying.
