Cheap Sim Card

Holafly SIM card: it sells eSIMs, and none that you hold

A Holafly SIM card does not arrive in the post. Holafly's pages describe digital eSIMs bought online, with no physical store. Here is how that works.

A Holafly SIM card, in the plastic sense, is not something we found for sale. Holafly's pages describe eSIMs, which are digital and arrive by email or app. We read its homepage and FAQ on 8 October 2026 and neither offers a physical SIM. Holafly does not say in so many words that it never will, so treat this as "not sold on the pages we read" rather than a promise.

Is a Holafly SIM card a physical card?

Not on the pages we read. The homepage presents its eSIMs as removing the need to swap your SIM. An FAQ states that Holafly has no physical stores and that you buy online, through the website or app, usually within minutes. It mentions no plastic card for you to pick up or have posted.

If you need a physical card for a particular country, you would have to look elsewhere.

What is a Holafly eSIM card, then?

People search for holafly esim card and holafly sim as if the two were the same, and in practice they are. A Holafly eSIM card is a profile downloaded to the phone, installed by QR code or in the app, that lives alongside your normal SIM. Holafly says you can run both at once and keep your home number for calls and texts.

The eSIM is data-only. The homepage says you cannot make or receive normal calls or SMS on it, though WhatsApp and iMessage work. The one exception is its monthly Unlimited plan, which Holafly says includes a number for the US, UK or Canada for inbound texts and internet calling only.

What does your phone need?

An eSIM-capable, unlocked phone, as Holafly's FAQ stresses. If you are not sure yours qualifies, use our eSIM compatible phones list before you buy. Holafly's homepage says refunds are possible if you bought without checking compatibility, which is a good reason to check first.

What does a Holafly eSIM cost?

Prices below were read at Holafly's checkout on 18 August 2026, USD, unlimited, for Japan:

DaysPrice
3$11.90
5$20.50
7$27.50
10$36.50
15$50.50
30$73.90

Other countries run on other ladders: Spain's 30 days is $64.50 and India's is $111.90. It is not the cheapest verified option in most places, and we compare it in Holafly alternatives and on our cheapest eSIM page.

How do you get a Holafly eSIM?

Pick the country and length on the site or app, pay, and Holafly sends the eSIM by email. For the full picture, the Holafly review has every price we hold, and Airalo vs Holafly, Holafly's side shows how it measures up. There is no published Holafly discount code either.

Why people search for a Holafly SIM card

Most buyers type holafly sim card, or just holafly sim, because they are used to buying a plastic SIM at an airport kiosk. An eSIM replaces that errand. You skip the queue and the tiny tray, you keep your own SIM in the phone, and you can set the eSIM up before you leave home. The trade-off is that it only works on phones that support eSIM, and that your first sign of a problem arrives when you land, so it pays to read the setup steps in advance.

If your phone is older or locked, an eSIM will not work on it, and a local prepaid SIM from a shop is the alternative.

One thing we could not find: how long an installed Holafly eSIM waits before its days start counting. Holafly's pages we read did not say, so check at checkout. This is desk research, not a test on our own phone.
