eSIM Go for Australia: beaten on price, and not on sale in any case

Two rows, and no shop

Our Australia data holds two eSIM Go figures: 3GB for 30 days at $8.50, and 10GB for 30 days at $17. Nothing smaller, nothing larger, no unlimited option.

Neither is a plan you can buy. eSIM Go sells wholesale to resellers — travel brands, apps and MVNOs that put their own name on the eSIM — and does not retail to travellers. We checked esim-go.com on 18 August 2026: no consumer price anywhere on the site, no basket, no checkout, Contact Sales where a shop puts Buy now, and no per-country consumer pages, which return 404. Earlier versions of this page told readers to open eSIM Go's site and see whether the $17 was still there; there is no such page, and that instruction has gone. The $17 is not an Australian price either. It is the identical figure our eSIM Go rows carry for France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand and the United States, and the $8.50 repeats in four more countries. Nine markets at one number to the cent is a template being filled in.

What Australia actually costs

Every figure below was read off the seller's own site.

Nomad leads every metered size in Australia on checked prices. Saily's verified 3GB month at $7.99 and Airalo's verified 10GB month at $18 fill in behind it, and both eSIM Go rows sat above those before the checkout question arose at all.

Note the range the eSIM Go rows never reached: no 1GB plan for a three-day city stop, and nothing above 10GB for anyone working off a phone for a month, where Nomad's verified 50GB at $32 and Saily's verified 20GB at $29.99 are the options.

eSIMCard is a different case again, and not the same as this one. It runs a working storefront, so its prices can be paid; ours were simply wrong, and all 78 rows were withdrawn on 18 August 2026 once we read its site. eSIM Go's rows cannot be bought at any price, by anyone, ever.

The network gap is expensive in Australia specifically

Nobody in this market publishes a host network. We read Airalo's, Nomad's, Saily's and Holafly's own country pages on 17 and 18 August 2026 and none of them names a carrier for any country — the operators our data once attributed to Holafly's listing were nowhere on Holafly's site. eSIM Go could not name one even if it wanted to, having no consumer page at all. Saily's own pages go no further than promising a connection from Australia's best networks.

Most countries let you shrug at this. Australia does not. Along the east coast and in the cities the three national networks all perform well and it makes little practical difference which you land on. Head inland and it inverts: across the outback, the Kimberley, Cape York and the long empty highway runs, Telstra is the only network with real coverage, and the rest is dead air.

Since no travel eSIM names its host, none of them can sell you that. The only reliable route to remote coverage is a prepaid SIM from the carrier itself, bought locally — Australia asks for no ID at all, and an airport SIM runs about $18.

That local SIM is also the fair benchmark now. Nomad's verified 10GB month at $15 undercuts it by three dollars with the data included, and its verified 3GB month at $7 is well under half the price. In Australia, unlike a lot of countries, the travel eSIMs genuinely win on price. They just cannot win on coverage you can choose.

Verdict

There is nothing to buy from eSIM Go. The two rows are a record of what our dataset held, and the "check the live price and take the 10GB if it holds" advice this page used to give pointed at a checkout that does not exist.
