Eagle Mobile Albania SIM card: the brand was retired years ago

Looking for an Eagle Mobile Albania SIM card? The name belonged to ALBtelecom's mobile arm and has been replaced. Here is the trail, and what visitors can buy now.

Does an Eagle Mobile Albania SIM card still exist?

Not under that name, as far as we can tell. Wikipedia's article on ALBtelecom traces it: ALBtelecom launched Eagle Mobile in March 2008, took it in-house in 2013, replaced the Eagle name with ALBtelecom Mobile in 2017, and lists the whole company as defunct on 14 March 2023, with One Albania as successor. That is a secondary source. We could not check it against an operator site, because the old domains did not load for us on 8 October 2026 and one.al showed our tools only a page title.

If you see "Eagle" on an old guide, a map listing or a shop sign, treat it as a leftover. Ask which brand the SIM actually belongs to.

What do we know about Eagle Mobile's coverage and prices?

Nothing we can verify. We read no Eagle Mobile coverage claim, tourist pack or tariff from an operator, so this page quotes none. Older write-ups that call Eagle a "budget option" are unverified notes and are not repeated here as fact.

What can a visitor to Albania buy that we can read?

Vodafone Albania's site was readable. Its tourist eSIM announcement lists a 3 GB, 3-day pack at 600 lek and a 20 GB, 10-day pack at 1,700 lek, both including VAT, available from 15 May 2026 and activated only through Vodafone's website. Its home page also lists a physical SIM Tourist Pack and Vodafone shops. The details are on our Vodafone Albania page.

The same trail leads to the ALBtelecom page, which covers the merged company in more detail.

Eagle Mobile Albania SIM card or a travel eSIM?

With a travel eSIM you sort out data before landing. With a local SIM you queue, show ID and pay in lek, and on a short trip the saving is small. Compare both in our Albania SIM comparison and see our cheapest eSIM page. Back to the Albania hub.

Common questions

Is Eagle Mobile still a mobile operator in Albania?

According to Wikipedia, the Eagle Mobile name was replaced by ALBtelecom Mobile in 2017, and ALBtelecom is listed as defunct from 14 March 2023, with One Albania as successor. We could not confirm this on an operator site, so treat it as a strong lead and check in a shop.

What happened to Eagle Mobile Albania?

Wikipedia says ALBtelecom created Eagle Mobile in 2008, absorbed it as a brand in 2013, rebranded it ALBtelecom Mobile in 2017, and later merged into One Albania. The sources are secondary and the operator domains did not load for us, so the dates are a guide, not a verified record.

Can tourists buy an Eagle Mobile SIM card in Albania?

We found no evidence of a current Eagle Mobile tourist product, and the brand appears to have been retired. We could not read any operator page that sells one. For a tourist pack you can read online with prices, see Vodafone Albania's eSIM announcement, linked from this page.

Is Eagle Mobile cheaper than Vodafone in Albania?

We cannot say, because we found no current Eagle Mobile price list from the operator. Vodafone Albania publishes tourist eSIM packs from 600 lek for 3 GB over 3 days up to 1,700 lek for 20 GB over 10 days, including VAT. Compare against a live price sheet in the shop.

Do I need ID to buy a SIM card in Albania?

The pages we could read do not say. Vodafone's eSIM announcement makes no mention of ID, and we found nothing from Eagle Mobile. Take your passport when buying a physical SIM, and ask the shop what it registers before you pay.
