Airalo refund: when you can get one and how to request it

Airalo has a Request Refund button for eligible orders, with different payout options depending on your reason. Here is what its help centre says and what it leaves out.

Can you get an Airalo refund?

Possibly. An Airalo refund is available only on eligible orders: Airalo says the refund button appears only for those, and that expired or fully used eSIMs are not eligible. There is no blanket promise. We read Airalo's refund article and related pages on 8 October 2026. This is desk research from public pages, and we did not request a refund ourselves.

How do you request an Airalo refund?

There are two routes. In My eSIMs, select the package and look for Request Refund in the Package History. Or go to Profile, then Orders, and open the Order Details. You then choose one of four reasons: wrong purchase, plans changed, installation issues, or eSIM not working.

Where does an Airalo refund go?

The reason you choose changes the options.

  • Wrong purchase or plans changed. Refund goes to Airmoney, Airalo's in-app currency, and nowhere else.
  • Installation issues or eSIM not working. You can take Airmoney or a credit back to the original payment method.

Airmoney is instant. A refund to the original payment method typically takes 7 to 10 business days, though Airalo says it may take up to 30 days depending on your bank. If you have had several automated refunds recently, your request may go to a person for manual review.

What if the install fails?

On a direct install that fails, Airalo's iPhone and Android guides say you may see a "Something went wrong" message. Tapping View options offers an automated replacement, an automated refund if it cannot be fixed, or escalation to support. That is a quicker path than a general Airalo refund request if the cause is the install itself.

What if the eSIM never arrives?

Airalo says that if an eSIM is not delivered within 70 minutes of purchase, the order is refunded automatically and you get a confirmation email. Delayed eSIMs usually turn up within minutes, rarely up to an hour.

What if you bought the wrong eSIM?

Contact support before you install or use it, Airalo advises, so the case can be reviewed quickly. Another option it gives if the eSIM is uninstalled: share the installation QR code so it can be used on another compatible device, via email, messaging, Quick Share or a printout. Airalo does not say whether sharing affects refund eligibility, so ask first if you plan to do both.

What Airalo does not say

Its refund article gives no deadline for asking and mentions no fees. It does not say what counts as "fully used", for example how little data has to be left. We would rather leave those open than guess.

How do you reach support about an Airalo refund?

Tap the orange chat icon in the app, then choose Chat in the Airalo App or Chat on WhatsApp. If the refund button is unavailable, support can help. See Airalo customer service for what is known about contact options.

Before you ask, check whether the fault is fixable. The Airalo eSIM not working checklist comes from Airalo's own troubleshooting order. If you only need more data, see Airalo eSIM top up. Our Airalo review has the prices, and cheapest eSIM helps you choose better next time.

Common questions

Does Airalo give refunds?

For eligible orders, yes. Airalo shows a Request Refund button only on orders that qualify, and says expired or fully used eSIMs are not eligible. It makes no blanket promise, and the pages we read give no deadline for asking and mention no fees, so request one as early as you can.

Can I get my money back to my card if I bought the wrong eSIM?

Not according to Airalo. For a wrong purchase or changed plans, the refund goes to Airmoney, its in-app currency, and nowhere else. A credit back to the original payment method is offered only for installation issues or an eSIM that is not working.

What if I never received my Airalo eSIM?

Airalo says an eSIM that is not delivered within 70 minutes of purchase is refunded automatically, and you get a confirmation email. Delivery is normally immediate, and Airalo says a delay usually clears within minutes and rarely takes up to an hour, so wait and refresh the app first.
