LG U+ South Korea SIM card: tourist eSIM, SIM and transport pass
LG U+ runs an English tourist site with data-only eSIMs, data-plus-voice options and a transport-linked Tour Pass. Some phones are excluded.
Is an LG U+ South Korea SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
Yes, it is a product built for tourists. LG U+ has an English site for visitors listing eSIMs and SIM cards, and it is unusually specific about limits. We read it on 8 October 2026 through search excerpts.
What can a visitor buy?
LG U+ lists four product families. The data-only Korea eSIM gives unlimited data in plans from one to five days, with prices on the page from 6,500 won for one day to 27,500 won for five days; check the page, as we saw it only in a search excerpt. A Data+Voice option adds a Korean 010 number, calls and texts. Tour Pass bundles unlimited data with bus and subway access, in eSIM and SIM formats, with three- and five-day options. CHECK iN SEOUL is a Seoul-focused card with transport and payment features. Incoming calls and texts are free, and outgoing international rates vary.
How do you buy and get it?
Data-only eSIMs are bought online, and you get the QR code at once, with no airport visit. Data+Voice eSIMs need a passport check at the airport counter. SIM cards are picked up at Incheon (T1 and T2), Gimpo or Gimhae airports. Passport details and a photo are required, and the pages say a passport can buy up to three SIM cards, though one product page says one item per passport. For Tour Pass, a credit or debit card is needed for the deposit. Data eSIMs must be activated within 60 days of purchase, cannot be refunded, and once activated cannot be reinstalled or reissued.
What phones work?
Only country-unlocked eSIM phones. LG U+ says Google Pixel and OPPO cannot use its eSIM, and one setup guide adds Motorola, although pages differ. Dial *#06# to see if your phone shows an EID. Check before you pay.
LG U+ coverage
We read LG U+'s promotional wording about 5G and LTE but no coverage percentage, and one blog says 5G costs about 3,000 won more per day. We make no coverage claim. Use LG U+'s map for your route.
LG U+ versus a travel eSIM
If you need a Korean number or transport pass, LG U+ is useful. If you only need data, a travel eSIM may be simpler, and it works on phones such as Pixel. See the South Korea comparison page, and KT and SK Telecom.
