KT South Korea SIM card: prepaid eSIM and SIM for short-stay visitors
KT runs a dedicated roaming site for foreign tourists, with data and voice plans for up to 90 days. Voice plans are airport-only.
Is a KT South Korea SIM card a good choice for a visitor?
Yes, KT is one of the few carriers with a site built for tourists. Its roaming.kt.com pages describe a prepaid eSIM and SIM for foreign visitors on short stays. We read those pages on 8 October 2026, through search excerpts, and some details differ between pages, which we flag.
What does KT sell, and who is it for?
KT says its eSIM and SIM product is designed for foreign tourists visiting Korea for a short period of up to 90 days. Use is limited to a maximum of 90 days from first activation, rentals and extensions included. There are data-only plans and data-plus-voice plans, and all numbers start with 010. Data plans are unlimited but speed-controlled: KT says that after 3 GB on a line in a day you can keep using data at 5 Mbps. The price list on the eSIM page ran from one day up to 90 days. We saw figures from 6,500 won for one day, but the pages may be out of date, so confirm the price on KT's page.
Where do you buy it?
A comparison table on KT's eSIM page says voice plans can be bought only at the KT Roaming Center at the airport, while data eSIMs can also be bought online. Limits: one voice SIM and up to four data SIMs per person. You install by scanning a QR code. The pages disagree on the deadline, one saying within 90 days of purchase and another within 30 days, so check your order. KT also says cards issued in Korea are not accepted for payment on this product, so pay with a foreign card. Support contacts are listed on the site.
What you need
Your phone must be country-lock free; KT suggests confirming with your current carrier. Voice top-up needs identity verification (an entry check), and KT says voice call and SMS may be restricted if it is not completed. Once an eSIM is active it cannot be cancelled or refunded, and the product does not support personal authentication, which matters for some Korean apps.
KT coverage
We found no coverage claim to quote on the roaming pages. Use KT's coverage map for your route.
KT versus a travel eSIM
A KT eSIM can give you a Korean 010 number, which a travel eSIM does not, but voice needs an airport visit. A data-only travel eSIM installs at home. Compare options on the South Korea comparison page. See also LG U+ and SK Telecom.

Common questions
Can a tourist buy a KT South Korea SIM card?
Yes. KT's roaming site describes a prepaid eSIM and SIM for foreign tourists on short stays of up to 90 days. Data-only eSIMs can be bought online, while voice plans are sold only at the KT Roaming Center at the airport, according to its eSIM comparison table.
Does KT have an eSIM for visitors to Korea?
Yes. KT sells a tourist eSIM, installed by scanning a QR code, with data-only and data-plus-voice plans. Limits include one voice SIM and up to four data SIMs per person. Pages disagree on the install deadline, so check your order.
Do KT tourist plans include a phone number?
KT says all numbers are provided with 010. Voice plans are bought at the airport, and voice top-up needs an identity check at entry. Without it, KT says voice call and SMS access may be restricted. Outgoing calls and texts use a top-up balance.
What are the limits on KT's tourist data plan?
KT says data plans are unlimited but speed-controlled, with 5 Mbps after 3 GB on a line in a day. Use is capped at 90 days from first activation, Korean-issued cards are not accepted for payment, and active eSIMs cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Is a KT South Korea SIM card better than a travel eSIM?
It depends. KT can give a Korean 010 number and voice, but voice plans need an airport visit and an identity check. A data-only travel eSIM installs before you fly. Compare current prices on our cheapest eSIM page.
