eSIMCard in the Philippines: the market-leading plans have gone from our data

Six rows, all withdrawn

This was the longest eSIMCard catalogue we held for any country outside Vietnam: six plans, two of which this page called market-leading. Every one of them has been withdrawn — out of the table here and out of the cheapest-per-gigabyte ranking across the site — and the rankings built on them have gone rather than been softened.

This is a stronger statement than the indicative label those rows used to carry. Indicative means unread but plausible. On 18 August 2026 we read eSIMCard's own pages and found the plan our data priced identically in fifteen unrelated markets sells for well under half of it in Japan, and that our sizes matched neither tier it really sells. Once you know a number is wrong, calling it indicative stops being a caveat and starts being a euphemism.

Replacing them was not an option. eSIMCard sells the same size over the same duration at several prices at once — a Standard/Universal toggle switches the whole range between two product lines, every plan carries a speed-limit flag buried in its own details modal, and the operators named vary plan by plan. Our records hold only provider, size, days and price, so any single figure we stored would have flattened those distinctions into a claim we cannot support. Our eSIMCard page has the detail.

What an eSIM for the Philippines actually costs

Every figure below came off the seller's own site — Airalo and Saily on 13 August 2026, Nomad on 17 August 2026. They are the benchmark to hold eSIMCard's live prices against.

Uncapped, the verified ladders run: Airalo from $11.50 for 3 days to $71.00 for 30; Holafly from $11.90 for 3 days to $73.90 for 30; Nomad from $18.00 for 5 days to $33.00 for 10.

"Unlimited" here usually means a daily fair-use policy

Unlimited plans in this market generally carry a daily FUP — a fair-use allowance that resets each day, after which speeds are throttled rather than the connection being cut. Our records do not hold the daily allowance for any seller here, and we are not going to guess at a figure.

This is the single most important thing to check before buying an uncapped plan anywhere. A daily FUP set generously is close to real unlimited; set at a gigabyte a day it is a seven-gigabyte week wearing a bigger label. Read the terms on the seller's own checkout page and find the number.

Airalo's verified unlimited week in the Philippines is $27.00, and its verified three-day plan is $11.50. Those are the figures to hold any uncapped offer against.

The network claim

The two carriers our own records held against eSIMCard's Philippine rows came from this site's generated text rather than from eSIMCard, and they were inconsistent even inside our own data — attached to the two smallest plans and absent from the four larger ones. We no longer present them as its listing.

The general picture in the Philippines is that coverage is good in Manila, Cebu, Boracay and the developed resort areas, and thin elsewhere: Batanes, the Camiguin hinterlands, the smaller Visayas islands, the interior of Palawan and Mindanao, and the water between island-hopping stops such as Big Lagoon and Kayangan Lake. We hold no verified network for any travel eSIM here, so none can be chosen on coverage from our data alone.

Local SIM, for comparison

A local prepaid SIM costs around $5 at a Philippine airport, which undercuts every verified eSIM plan we hold for the country. Globe, Smart Communications and DITO all sell to visitors, but registration requires your passport and ID, and it takes time on arrival that a pre-loaded eSIM does not.

Travel eSIMs here are data only: no Philippine number, no calls, no SMS. Tethering is supported across the metered sellers.

What eSIMCard still does that nobody else does

eSIMCard is the only one of the six sellers on this site that publishes the host network at all. We read that directly: its Japan page names three Japanese operators against its plans, in a Supported Countries & Networks block. Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Holafly name no operator in any country, and eSIM Go has no consumer page on which it could. That is a genuine difference, and the price check left it untouched.

The carriers our own records held against its rows here came from this site's generated text rather than from eSIMCard, so those are ours to withdraw and not its claim to defend. Its own country listing is the place to look. The Philippines is a country where the answer is worth having, since coverage falls away fast outside Manila, Cebu and the developed resort areas.

Verdict

We have no Philippine price for eSIMCard, so this page no longer ranks any of its six plans. That is a limitation in our records rather than a finding about the shop — it is a genuine retailer with a working checkout, unlike eSIM Go, whose rows nobody can buy at all.

What still holds: read the daily fair-use number before buying anything uncapped, and note that a $5 airport SIM undercuts every eSIM here if you can spare the registration time. The full field is on the Philippines hub.
