Holafly's unlimited US eSIM, and the prices we have withdrawn

What Holafly sells here, and what we no longer claim it costs

Holafly's US product is a single idea: unlimited data on a network it does not name, with no gigabyte ladder to choose from. You pick a duration and that is the whole decision.

This page used to put five prices against that — one day at $6.90, five days at $24.90, ten at $36.90, thirty at $67.90 and ninety at $139.90 — and used them to say Holafly stood alone at both ends of the market. We have withdrawn all five. They came from the generated corpus this site was originally built from, not from Holafly. On 18 August 2026 we read Holafly's own site in a browser and recorded verified prices for 44 countries; the United States was not one of them.

What that read established elsewhere is why we will not leave the old numbers standing. In all 44 countries the corpus had underpriced Holafly, sometimes heavily — Denmark's month by $14, New Zealand's by $26.90, South Africa's by $37 — and it invented durations that do not exist anywhere: one-day, 14-day, 20-day, 25-day, 60-day and 90-day plans, all of which appeared in our data and none of which Holafly sells.

So two things can be said with confidence, because they hold in every country Holafly covers:

• It sells exactly six durations — 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days. The US one-day and 90-day plans this page recommended do not exist.
• Every plan is unlimited. There is no metered tier, so Holafly cannot appear in a cost-per-gigabyte ranking at all.

The hotspot restriction

Holafly's US plan does not support tethering. That limitation bites harder in the United States than in most places, because tethering a laptop is how a lot of people actually work here — from an Airbnb, from a coffee shop, from a hotel room where the free WiFi is throttled to uselessness.

If you were planning to run a laptop off your phone, this plan is not for you and no price makes it right. Check the tethering terms on whatever you buy instead. If you only ever use your phone, the restriction costs you nothing at all.

What the alternatives cost

Airalo and Nomad both sell unlimited US plans, and both ladders were read off their own sites.

Airalo is the cheaper of the two at every shared length, and it fits more trip shapes than Holafly's six fixed durations. Those are the figures to hold a Holafly quote against — in the 44 countries where we now have both, Holafly came in above Airalo at almost every window.

The larger question is whether you need unlimited at all. Airalo's verified Change 10GB for 30 days is $22.50 and Saily's is $22.99; its 5GB month is $13.50 and its 50GB month $42. Ten gigabytes covers maps, messaging, social and a fair amount of browsing across a month. Unlimited earns the difference if you stream video daily, run long video calls, or genuinely value never checking a data counter. Those are real preferences. They are not the default ones.

Coverage: an open question

This page used to tell you the plan ran on T-Mobile and AT&T. That pairing came from our own older data rather than from Holafly, which names no US carrier — or any carrier, in any of the countries we have read — so the honest position is that you do not know which network you land on.

What can be said is what the American networks are like. T-Mobile and AT&T are both excellent across cities and suburbs; T-Mobile leads on 5G availability at above 91% of the time, with a median all-technology download speed of 259 Mbps measured in the second half of 2025, though the nationwide average travellers actually see is closer to 52 Mbps. The gap is rural and remote, where Verizon is the network to have — the Grand Canyon rim-to-river route, the Yellowstone wilderness and similar backcountry. For New York, Los Angeles and Chicago with a national park visitor centre thrown in, any of the three is fine. For the backcountry, the only way to choose is a US SIM bought on the carrier you want, about $20 at the airport with no ID required.

Who should buy it

If you are on a city trip, stream or video-call heavily, use your phone rather than a laptop, and would rather close the data question than optimise it, uncapped data is a sensible purchase — just make it on a price you can see. Open Holafly's own page, then set the number against Airalo's verified $18.50 for five days or $68 for a month.

The stopover recommendation this page used to make is gone with the one-day plan. Airalo's shortest uncapped window is three days at $11.50, and its verified 1GB over three days is $4 if all you need is maps between flights.

Skip unlimited altogether if you tether a laptop, if you are heading into backcountry where Verizon matters, or if you are a normal-volume user who would be better served by 10GB at a third of the price.
