Holafly vs Airalo: six day-based unlimited plans against a deep menu

Holafly sells six unlimited lengths and nothing else. Airalo sells those and metered plans too. Here is how the Holafly side of the match looks in verified prices.

In a Holafly vs Airalo match, Holafly wins on simplicity and loses on price in most countries. This page looks at the contest from Holafly's side, meaning its day-based unlimited plans, priced against Airalo's in Japan, Germany and Spain. The mirror-image view, led by Airalo's catalogue, is at our main Airalo vs Holafly comparison, so we do not repeat it here.

What is Holafly's side of the match?

Holafly has one idea: you pick how many days, and data is unlimited. The six lengths are 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days, the same in every country we read. Its homepage says plans reach more than 200 destinations. There is nothing to calculate and no gigabyte plan to compare.

Airalo, by contrast, sells many metered sizes and unlimited plans in most of its markets. So in any Holafly vs Airalo comparison the real question is whether paying for "unlimited" beats choosing gigabytes.

How do the day-based plans compare in price?

Both sellers' prices below were read at their own checkouts on 18 August 2026, in USD. In Japan:

DaysHolafly unlimitedAiralo unlimited
3$11.90$11.50
5$20.50$17
7$27.50$27
10$36.50$34.50
15$50.50$48
30$73.90$69

Airalo is cheaper at every length, by 40 cents to nearly $5. In Germany the 30-day gap is bigger, $73.90 against $59. In Spain it is $64.50 against $63, nearly level. Across the 248 same-length unlimited pairs where we hold both prices, Airalo was cheaper 223 times, Holafly 18 times and 7 were level.

Where does Holafly come out ahead?

Canada. Holafly's 3-day plan is $17.90 against Airalo's $19, its 10-day is $34.90 against $35, and its 15-day is $44.90 against $45. These are small wins, but they are real. Holafly's other wins are also short or mid-length plans, in countries such as Morocco, South Africa and India, by $0.10 to $5.50. If you are heading to Canada, the Canada page has the rest.

What about the hotspot and slowdowns?

This is a Holafly-side point that a price table hides. Holafly's FAQ says its hotspot is not unlimited and speeds can be cut for up to a day after heavy use. The regional pages we read allow 1 GB per day of sharing. Airalo's fair use policy, by contrast, states 3 GB a day by default and allows tethering with no limit on devices; the detail is on Airalo unlimited data. See Holafly unlimited data for the Holafly detail.

In Holafly vs Airalo, which is better for you?

If you want three to seven days with no thinking, Holafly is fine, and at that length the gap is a dollar or two. If you stay a month, Airalo's unlimited plan is cheaper in the countries we compared, and its 50 GB plans are cheaper again: $36 in Germany, $39 in Spain. That metered option is exactly what Holafly cannot offer.

For the wider field, Holafly alternatives covers every provider on this site. The Holafly hub and Airalo hub hold full tables. If your priority is the lowest cost per gigabyte, cheapest eSIM ranks it. Prices move, so check both checkouts before you pay, and note that Holafly has no discount code that we could find.

Holafly vs Airalo: which day length is the best buy?

On Holafly's ladder the per-day cost falls as you go longer: about $3.97 a day for 3 days in Japan, $3.37 for 15 days, and $2.46 for 30. The 30-day plan has the lowest daily rate, but it is also where Airalo's gap is widest ($73.90 against $69 in Japan). Airalo's ladder follows the same shape at lower prices, so in the Holafly vs Airalo ranking nothing flips at any length in Japan.

For a trip of 11 to 14 days, both sellers make you buy the 15-day plan, so you pay for days you do not use. Neither lets you pick an exact number of days in the countries we read.

One limit: this is desk research from public pages. We have not run either eSIM on a handset, and neither seller publishes the carrier it uses.
